//Thank you everyone who has stuck by reading get out! I’m excited to announce that this isn’t the end of these characters stories.

Rather this is the end of this volume! Their lives will continue in Geertwim and my upcoming story “Stay”

Which is a direct continuation of Get out with a different setting, new characters and old characters alike!

It will also be on the same posting schedule. So thank you once again to everyone who has stuck with us! We appreciate you.

It was a typical mundane Monday morning, the mail man had just finished making his round down the block of townhouses. Belle set her morning tea down so she could retrieve it from the box. She hummed ‘Lullaby for Edward’, a piece she had composed a while back as she stepped out the door. It soothed her mind and gave her some peace when she was waking up.

She shuffled through her mail, “Bill, bill, bill, oh wait what’s this? A letter?”
Belle hadn’t received a letter for at least seven months. But she knew when she did it was usually her brother finally writing to her. She was never able to write him back though, which was the depressing part. Eddy only wrote to her and gave her no way to write him back. Maybe it was because he was always on the move and sending her letters or postcards from different countries.

What really sucked is that she knew he lied in the letters half the time so she wouldn’t worry. It made her worry more though, even if he was kindly letting her know he was still alive.

She sighed to herself as she looked at the way he wrote her name on the envelope, “Edward what have you gotten yourself this time?”

Belle supposed she shouldn’t read it outside so she stepped back into her home. She’d read it as she sipped her tea. She knew whatever the contents of the letter were she’d need some soothing.

At least Eddy was alive, she told herself as she sunk down into her loveast, “Alright let’s open this.”

Her tea was on standby as she opened the letter, her eyes immediately skimmed the top lines:

“Dear Belle,
I’m sorry for not writing in a long time. A lot has happened, but I have some good news! And possibly some bad news too. So let’s start with what’s new. Alex and I are no longer dating, we’ve been broken up for a month or two now. We’re on good terms though, we’ve both stopped working for the government. So he went to move to Japan and to live a normal life. I know, I know, you’re probably wondering why he’d go without me?! How dare he!? Or something like that. But that’s where something exciting comes in.
I’ve reunited with Brett! Isn’t that awesome, and now we’re dating. Which yeah, I get that it doesn’t seem like enough time between breaking up and moving on. But it is love, I know it. And as for other good news, Brett and I have decided to move to London. I hope to see you again while there. I’ve really missed you, it’s been the hardest part about working abroad. I love you and hope all is well.

Sincerely,
                Eddy Chen”

Belle stared for a good second at the letter in her hand, Eddy was free. Eddy was no longer tied to that cruel government job that threatened his life daily. And now she was going to be seeing him again, “Oh Eddy.”
She murmured to herself softly, she may even see Brett again. It was saddening to hear Alex was no longer in the picture, but it was nice to also know that Alex was going to be somewhere safe. Eddy could hopefully be safe now too.
She sipped her tea with a smile on her lips, she didn’t need it for soothing. Maybe just to ease her excitement for being reunited with her brother again.
