Eddy was getting a bit nervous, when Ray said that he would tell them when he was ready, he didn't expect it to be the next day. It came as a surprise to him that Ray could prepare so quickly. It almost seemed as if Ray wanted to break his hand and wrist. He wouldn't be surprised honestly, it was probably karma for what had happened that fateful doctor's visit with a vibrator.
"It'll be okay," Brett said softly, though he too felt nervous as he watched Ray prepare all the stuff he would need on the table next to where he would work. They had decided once again that the kitchen would be the best place to work, as the kitchen table was quite sturdy and Ray needed something sturdy to push back against as he... No, Brett didn't even want to think about what Ray was about to do to Eddy. "Are you sure about this, though? You're sure you want to go through with it?"
"I'm sure, either way it will get worse. So if it goes wrong, might as well have my wrist get worse from trying to fix it. You know?" Eddy wasn't sure he was just lying to himself. He felt sick from even thinking about this. Hopefully he wasn't going to trigger anything. It was scary and was legal torture!
"I guess so," Brett mumbled softly as Ray turned to Eddy with a smile that kept his nerves well hidden.
"Just to check: You are okay with some numbing, right?," Ray asked his patient. They had talked about this briefly before after he had been shot, and Eddy had seemed very reluctant to even get pain medication in pill form. Getting something injected seemed more invasive, at least in Ray's mind, so he wanted to make sure Eddy was okay with that. The question seemed even more relevant with Alex' hesitance in regard to it before. "I absolutely promise nothing bad will come of it, it's just local anaesthetics.""Oh uh..." Eddy didn't particularly trust them after getting drugged and dragged off but also he didn't want to try to bite Ray's throat out from being insanely triggered, "As long as I'm conscious and alert. I am okay with it."
He cleared his throat anxiously.
"Yes, you will be," Ray assured softly, showing Eddy the vial. "The numbing will only really make you lose sensation in your arm from around your elbow down for a while. It's the same I gave to Alex when operating on him before."
"Okay then we can do it," Eddy took a deep breath, he needed to relax. He had to make sure that this didn't go terribly wrong. Which meant not to accidentally murder anyone and that he didn't freak out. That could definitely ruin his wrist if either happened.
Ray nodded and began preparing the syringe with the local anaesthetic as soon as he had gotten his gloves on. He had already scrubbed in, and he wouldn't be going under the skin anyway. It would be fine, he told himself. He knew theoretically how it needed to be done. It was just about hitting the right spot.
"Would you like me to stay?" Brett asked softly, not feeling completely sure if he should stay or go. Sure, Eddy had clinged to him for comfort for the past few days, but that didn't have to mean anything.
"Please stay with me. Unless the sound of breaking bones really disturbs you. Then you can go," Eddy spoke softly, he might need to be restrained. He was already anxious and bouncing his leg to try to stay calm. Yeah, they may need to strap him. He wasn't as calm as Alex had been.
"Okay, okay, I'll stay," Brett said softly, not really sure where to place himself. Luckily Ray took charge of that.
"If you are staying, I would like for you to grab a chair and sit over there, please," Ray said, pointing to the spot next to Eddy. Ray himself would for the most part be standing by the table anyway. "Anything else, then? Otherwise, I am good to go with the anaesthetic now.""No I think that's all," Eddy still anxiously bounced his leg then tried to adjust in his seat to get more comfortable. He knew in that moment that this was not going to be as easy as he thought it would be. When did he get this fidgety?
