Alex had left Eddy, cleaning his man and kissing his forehead before slipping away. He preferred not to wake him. Seeing all those scars, hearing all of his cries, Alex thought it was better not to add more to the hardships. That way Eddy could just sleep without all the hurt he had to wake up to. Alex would carry the burden for now.

It didn't mean that he didn't feel guilty as he walked back to Victor's apartment, letting himself in, because he knew how to get into places illegally.

Victor heard the door open, and he heard the door close. He had at some point decided to just go home, figuring his own couch would be more comfortable than the one at work. It was not. It was just as uncomfortable and made his back hurt just as much. He didn't really care. He felt all numb except his bruised fists from the punching of the boxing bag before.

Somehow he still found the will to sit up as Alex came back. He felt a bit like a dog who was happy someone came home in doing so, though.

"Hey," he said softly, stretching his sore back. "You're back late."

"I guess I am," Alex rubbed the back of his neck as his eyes traveled to Victor, staring at him for a good second. He was trying to figure out socially what he should say or do, "Sorry if I disturbed you."

That seemed to be the appropriate thing to do. Alex knew few things about what was acceptable but knew enough.

"You didn't, don't worry," Victor said softly. He could feel the anger from before slowly disappear, though it was being replaced with a weird feeling in his stomach. "I'm sorry I left without offering a ride. I figured you were busy."

"No it's fine, I understand not wanting to wait around," Plus Alex could gather his thoughts by walking alone. Surprisingly he had a lot of things to think about, alas there was never enough time to null it all over. Maybe that would change with not having to do work any longer. He'd have plenty of time to simply think.

"I could have, I just didn't know if you were coming back here or not," Victor said softly with a small shrug. His voice didn't reveal any of the unpleasant feelings in his stomach. Or was it a nice feeling? He wasn't sure. Knowing Alex was here and safe was nice, but everything else felt bad. "Thought maybe you'd spend the night there."

"Too dangerous for that, to stay in the same location as your boss or Eddy." It wasn't safe for them or for him really. It was a known location and the two had marks on their backs to be killed, him not so much. Although Alex preferred not to be dragged back to that hell hole.

"I guess so," Victor said softly, scratching his chin a bit as he tried to think about something more to say. He honestly wished he could keep Alex there and continue talking, and for once cursed his awkward nature that normally didn't bother him at all.

Alex slipped his shoes off not wanting to track any mud or grime in. He didn't really like creating messes, "So what have you been up to?"

He wondered if anyone had followed him, he figured probably not considering they killed a lot of their people. Sure, they were seen as replaceable but training a replacement was hella hard.

Victor shrugged, crossing his legs on the couch.
"Not much, just... you know. Hanging out, I guess," he said honestly. He hadn't really done much, just kind of staring up at the ceiling and crying sometimes. He hated the crying. It made him feel like a crybaby.

"Ah, sounds dull," Alex said bluntly, not really knowing where the line was. If something didn't sound fun, how was he supposed to lie and say it did. Sitting around didn't sound like the epitome of interest unless the man achieved enlightenment or something. Which maybe he did.
