Eddy giggled softly at something Ray said, he wasn't even sure what Ray said. All Eddy knew was that it made him smile. They walked back to his given room after the little tour. It was nice to have human interaction.

"So that concludes it. Good to know your way around, ey?" Ray grinned, happy to see Eddy in a better mood. His shift was over probably an hour ago now, and he figured it was time to head off now anyway when he saw the boss' bedroom door open.

"It is, thank you for showing me," Eddy smiled as he pushed some of his hair back behind his ear. Luckily he didn't know Ray's shift ended around an hour ago, otherwise he would feel bad. At the moment he was feeling a bit better.

Brett spotted Ray first and then heard Eddy's voice. It sounded a lot more chipper than the parts of the letter he had seen would indicate, but he supposed that was a good thing. At least for Eddy. It was probably a bad thing for him and his stupid feelings, but he should at least pretend to be happy if Eddy was.
"I'll see you later, then," Ray smiled, patting Eddy's arm a bit and taking a step back just as the boss came up to them.

"See you, I hope you rest well," Eddy said since it was a bit later then glanced at Brett. He really should be thankful the man was here to help him out. Sometimes though it was easier to blame others and not oneself. He had calmed down though so he wasn't going to blow up or anything. After all he cared for Brett too in a fucked up way because Eddy was fucked up.

"Hey," Brett said, forcing a small smile as Ray left them. He had already convinced himself Eddy would probably leave him as soon as he was able to, especially now when he seemed so happy. "How are you doing?"

"Hey, Brett. I'm doing a bit better now, your employee Ray is really sweet," Eddy leaned on the wall, "Want to come in?"

He asked, even though Brett didn't really need to have an invitation because it was Brett's house.

"He really is. Why was he here still?" Brett asked, looking after Ray just as he headed down the stairs. "And uh, if you're okay with that, yeah. Thank you."

Eddy tilted his head slightly confused by the question since he didn't know Ray's schedule at all, "He showed me around, and I am okay if you come in."

He put the hand with the bandaid on it in his pocket. He didn't want Brett to see.

"Huh, I suppose I should pay him overtime," Brett commented with a small shrug, reaching for the door handle so he could open the door for Eddy. He wasn't sure how to feel about the fact Eddy was making friends with his guards.

"Oh, " Eddy said as he connected the dots, he hoped he hadn't bugged Ray too much with staying overtime, "Thank you."

He walked inside the bedroom, picking up the letter from the floor as he did.

Brett followed him inside, noticing that Eddy picked up the letter. Just the thought of the piece of paper made his stomach hurt.

"Can... can I ask... what the letter said?" he requested, not really moving further into the room. "If it's not too private, obviously. I understand if it is."

Eddy's expression became more sullen as Brett asked about the letter. He folded it carefully and set it on the nightstand, "Oh yeah, you can ask."

He sat on the edge of the bed, "It's complicated. Alex explained why he had to push me away and basically broke things off to keep me safe, since not all of us can escape our circumstances."

Eddy wished Alex had an out. He thought about what Ray said, having someone with medical knowledge to get the tracker out.

"That explains a lot," Brett said quietly with a small nod. It also meant Alex wasn't really the bad guy he had seemed like, which should be a good thing. "I uh... I'm sorry it ended like that, I guess because of me."
