The song at the top and below is what inspired me to write this.
Kelsey looked out the window of her classroom, you could say love was in the air because she couldn't stop thinking about Wildernessa.
Kelsey poked her math book page with her pencil, ready for class to end. And why was Kelsey so eager for class to end? It wasn't out of boredom or cause her classmates weren't the best. The carnival was opening up and spring break was around the corner, so after school today Kelsey planned on asking out Vanessa to a date at the carnival.
Time Skip
Once the bell rang, Kelsey couldn't help but feel relieved but excited at the same time. Kelsey practiced what she would say in her head while she walked to the spot where she wanted to meet Vanessa, she had already texted Vanessa where she wanted to meet her. The spot was decorated in red roses, was sprayed with strawberry scented perfume and Kelsey was using her phone to play Vanessas favorite song in the background.
Kelsey quickly sat down on one of the cushions on the ground to prevent her clothes getting dirty, Kelsey then adjusted the other cushion that was for Wildernessa to sit on. Then, the sound of a leaf getting stepped on happened.
It was Vanessa, she looked confused at the scene that was set up. Kelsey was of course glad Wildernessa was here but tried to push away the nerviness in her. "Kelsey? Did you set this up?"Wildernessa asked then asked if she could take a seat on the other cushion to each Kelsey agreed to. Vanessa then sat down on the cushion and wondered what Kelsey wanted to see her for, Kelsey tried not to gulp nervously and explained the reason why she wanted to see Vanessa then gave her a hair clip so the two could match.
Wildernessa's curiosity swapped to awkwardness, Vanessa looked at the hair clip in Kelsey's hair and the other matching hair clip in her hand. Wildernessa had never expected this to happen, she was of course flattered by the request but there was one problem.
Vanessa loved someone else.
Wildernessa didn't want to hurt Kelsey, but her heart wanted someone else. So the only option now was, let the truth out.
"K-Kelsey....I'm uh...Flattered you like me, but I don't have feelings for you..."Wildernessa awkwardly said rubbing the back of her neck.
Kelsey didn't necessarily know what to say, she had just been rejected. Had Kelsey ruined her and Vanessas friendship? Does Wildernessa not like her anymore?
"I uh...Think I should go...It was nice seeing you, Kelsey..."Wildernessa sighed then walked off, avoiding the awkward moment.
Kelsey blinked in shock as she watched Wildernessa walk off back to her home then faded into the background.
Kelsey clutched the hair clip she wanted to match with Wildernessa and stared at her hands in disbelief.
Then, she felt raindrops fall on her body, Kelsey looked above her at the sky and saw it was raining. She looked around at the scene she made and saw it was slowly getting ruined by the rain all her hard work was getting destroyed and it was all for nothing. Kelsey sighed and quickly collected the items for the romantic scene.
Kelsey looked around the forest hoping to find a nearby park with a trash can so she can throw away the items that were ruined by the rain. She knew she couldn't go home and actually throw away the items because last time she tried to throw away something she wanted no one to see her father found it in the trash can and it didn't end that well. As Kelsey was looking she found a small shop that seemed to be opened and inside through the window she saw a trash can big enough for the items.
