Switcharoo Part 2

Omar slowly opened his eyes, he sat up and looked around now that he was awake. But his bedroom wasn't how it was, in his room the walls were purple and in front was a shelf of books. He rubbed his eyes again to see if he was dreaming, he wasn't.

Omar decided to get out of bed and stood in the middle of the room. Then, he started to recognize the room just a little bit, it was Maya's bedroom. It had changed a little in three years. "Why am I in Maya's room?"Omar thought then walked towards the bedroom door to walk out, he smelt some pancakes being made in the kitchen downstairs probably by Maya's brother making breakfast. He got back to walking then decided to walk down the stairs, but when he looked down to walk down the stairs, he didn't see his own legs and feet but instead he saw Maya's. It was all coming to him now, he was now in Maya's body.

Maya stumbled trying to get into Omar's clothes coming close to falling over multiple times. Before Maya rushed out the door, she looked back at the top of Omar's dresser and saw their friendship necklace. She didn't know why, but something told her that she had to go back for the necklace. And Maya did just that, when she had the necklace on she ran out the door or at least she thought she would. Just when Maya was going to go out the door, a hand pulled her away from the door by her shoulder. "Where do you think you're going without having breakfast?"Omar's mom said then started walking Maya to the kitchen, at first Maya tried to protest but she was in Omar's body so she just gave in and agreed to the breakfast.

Time Skip

After a few moments, Maya had finished eating breakfast pretending to be Omar in that body. The second Maya was excused, she dashed out the house, the first place she rushed to was the creek. But as she ran, she ran into the boy in her body. "Omar!"Maya called out not believing she was looking at her own physical appearance but herself was not in control. "Maya! How did we end up like this?!"Omar said touching his face, "I don't know, I just woke up and...And..."Maya tried to say but couldn't say anything else, "Wait...Our necklaces...Maybe they had something to do with this..."Omar said noticing Maya put his necklace on. "But why?"Maya asked, "We didn't experience this two days after we put on the necklaces! If we need to go places the shop should be the place".

So, they both decided to walk back to the shop together. It took a bit since they also had to look for the forest they took a walk in but they still found it. When they got there, Xavier was the only one there. "Xavier, where's that cashier lady?! We need to speak to her now!"Omar said, Xavier rolled his eyes and spoke. "Relax, she's taking a private phone call".

"She really made the mistake of trusting you in this shop alone..."Maya cringed, "She didn't, Omar!"Xavier snapped not knowing that wasn't Omar in that body. "Ugh...I forgot how immature you children are, this is why I stopped playing at the creek"Xavier sighed in annoyance. "Xavier, don't be like that you're not better than them"Hazel rolled her eyes stepping inside the shop. Xavier kept quiet hearing that Hazel had heard what he said. "Oh, it's you kids again are you here to shop again?"Hazel asked hoping it was true.

"No! We need to talk to you about the necklaces we brought! We swapped bodies!"Omar shouted. "Ugh...Children..."Xavier chimed in rudely causing him to get elbowed by Hazel. "Keep that attitude up and you won't be helping in my shop"Hazel threatened and Xavier stopped talking with a 'hmph". "Now, what were you saying?"Hazel asked again free from Xavier's comments "When we put on your necklaces we swapped bodies!"Maya said. Hazel didn't seem panicked she just looked like this was a normal thing, "I forgot those friendship necklaces were in this shop, it explained the whole body swap thing on the package"Hazel shrugged.

Omar gulped remembering himself throwing away the packaging and only focusing on the necklaces, "You threw it away didn't you?"Hazel sighed which Maya and Omar nodded to. "It's fine it's fine...I've dealt with this before I wrote notes on my items, Xavier go to the back and get the Orange notebook on the shelf"Hazel said turning to Xavier finally, Xavier nodded and went to the back to get Hazel's notebook. Xavier returned with it and handed it to Hazel. Hazel flipped through the pages and found the page talking about the moon necklaces "Here it is, let me see...So basically if you put them together you guys will swap bodies by the next full moon, to undo this you have to wait for the sun to get ready to set before sundown get out the necklaces and put them together and part them when the sun sets. If you don't you'll just have to wait til the next moon phase"Hazel shrugged. "Oh...Hey, can I take a picture of this so we don't forgot?"Maya asked after Omar handed over Maya's phone "Sure".

Maya took the photo of the page with her phone and walked out the store. "So we have to wait until sundown...?"Maya asked Omar, "Yeah...Guess we'll have to spend the day as each other"Omar sighed. "Good luck being in my life..."Maya sighed while walking with the boy with her body.

Time Skip

Right before sundown, Omar and Maya met up where the sun setting was more visible. "Let's get our lives back...Trying to be you was harder than I thought..."Omar sighed and grabbed onto Maya's friendship necklace and Maya grabbed Omar's necklace. "Guess you know what's it's like to be me..."Maya sighed then connected their friendship necklaces. The two watched the sun get ready to set, they eagerly waited hoping for it to be faster. Oh the joy they felt seeing the sun actually set and they didn't spare a minute to be wasted as they quickly parted the necklaces just for everything to go black.

"Omar! Omar!"Maya shouted shaking her friend awake after she had waken up in her own body. She sighed and just sat by Omar who's laying on the ground. She wondered if what happened with Omar when he was in her body, but at the same time it felt somewhat nice to take a small break from her reality. "Maya?"She heard Omar say just waking up in his own body. "Hey! She wasn't lying!"Omar said happily seeing himself in his own body. "Hey, do you think we should return these?"Maya asked taking her necklace out. "Probably not, we should just avoid putting the necklaces together"Omar shrugged. "*Sighs* Okay, I really like the necklaces...Wanna just watch the sun set?"Maya offered and sat criss-cross "Yeah, I've never really watched the sun set and I heard it was nice"Omar accepted and sat closer to Maya.
