It was no question or surprise that Bucky had sleep issues, even before Hydra and the war. He'd get anxious and stressed out about anything and everything, from what the next day might bring to his past to things that weren't even his problem or fault. Bucky would stay up into the early morning hours, or fall into restless sleep, and the mornings were always the same. Tired, bags under his eyes, a short temper and seclusion.

You always had the same problem, but you had a medication for said issue. Sure, it helped some, but it was never the same. It wasn't a peaceful sleep. You would stay up stressing and worrying about anything and everything, or you would not be able to fall asleep. Your body would be exhausted, crying out for sleep, but your brain refused. Or maybe it was just one of the insomniac nights.

Either way, sleep was a blessing for the two of you.

When your paths crossed, life became easier. Your stress and worries started melting away, for the both of you. And when you started dating under a year after becoming friends, sleep became peaceful and easier to fall into. The two of you wrapped in each other's embrace and knowing the other was safe from harm.

Then, the Avengers split. Right down the middle. You joined Steve's side, even if it hurt inside that you were fight your closest friends. The fight in Siberia left both you and Bucky severely injured, Bucky losing his metal arm and you, almost your life. Tony Stark, your father figure, left you for dead. Bucky struggled to carry your half unconscious form back to the Quinjet, he himself ready to collapse at any moment.
