                    ~Chapter 60~
       PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Chases POV:
Charli and I talked up on the roof for hours, we didn't even realize the time go by. We talked about everything, I tried my best not to bring up her home life. Every time I did bring it up she seemed to avoid the questions, so I just stopped bringing it up. Instead of talking about our past, we talked about our futures.

We talked about our future jobs and universities. Our dream lives. How many kids we both want, I said 2 and she said either 0 or 1. And deep down I was secretly wishing it would be 1. But if I had the choice between her or kids I'd chose her in a heart beat. I want kids, I just want her more.

After our conversation she initiated a kiss and not long after that we started making out

I never wanted it to stop of course but I had something important to ask her so I pulled away

Chase: "can I ask you something"

She nodded

Charli: "yeah of course"

I sighed and broke eye contact with her

Chase: "why do you fake when there's no one around?"

She laid there silent for a second then opened her mouth like she was about to say something but didn't.

Chase: "like why do we fake date when we are alone?"

I'm sure she understands the question I'm just giving her time to answer

Charli: "I know it's weird and we can stop doing it if you want but... I just like to do it because it gives me practice. So when we go to school people believe it. The more real it is, the more it hurts Justin."

Oh...

Im an idiot for thinking anything different.

I nodded

Chase: "ok. Yeah that's fine."

She smiled placing another kiss on my lips

This one felt colder. Fake.

Maybe it was all in my head. When I thought they were real. They felt real. But now that I know they're fake. They feel fake.

Charli: "what time is it?"

I picked up my phone and looked at it

Chase: "it's midnight"

Her eyes widened

Charli: "you're lying?"

I shook my head

Charli: "oh god! My parents are gonna kill me if they see I'm gone! I need to get back. I didn't realize it was so late"

I shouldn't have asked that last question. It ruined my day. My week even.

Chase: "alright let's go back then"

I tried to hide my disappointment but it wasn't working too well

Charli: "can we come back here again? Soon? Please"

I smiled knowing she enjoyed her time

Chase: "yes of course"

I liked being alone up here, gives me time to think. But one thing I like more then being alone, is being alone with her.

I later dropped her off at her house

She put her bike out front and turned to me

Charli: "even though your parents hate me, I still had a good time tonight"
