SAFE PLACE

Charlis POV:
It would be nice to get some sleep tonight. I know i won't be able to sleep if I'm alone. I will feel better if Chase is in the room. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to be hanging around with Chase but I need him here right now. He can leave in the morning for all I care.

I would've invited Bentley to stay with me tonight but I can't risk it.
If bill or my mom walked in and saw Chase here, they wouldn't really care.
Yeah, my mom would get mad but not as mad as she'd get if she saw a grown man in my room. So having Chase here just makes more sense.

Charli: "please. I know it's unfair but Il let you have the bed"

He looked confused

Chase: "why?"
Charli: "because you're the guest and I'm not letting you take the floor-"

He shook his head

Chase: "no, why do you want me to sleep over?"

How do I explain this... He is practically the only person who doesn't know about bill. Even though I know him the best of all the people I've told, it's the hardest to tell him.

Charli: "because if im never gonna see you again you might as well stay the night..?"

I don't know what else to say. I'm not gonna tell him what happened. I should but I won't.

Chase: "okay..? Yeah il stay if you want"

I smiled

Charli: "great"

He started grabbing the pillows and blankets from my closet

Chase: "Il sleep on the ground"

I actually cannot keep track of how many times he has slept on the ground-

Charli: "I can't let you-"
Chase: "you can and you are. Either that or I'm leaving"

I can't believe he is fighting me on this.

Charli: "fine take the ground if you so desperately want it"

He always has to be a gentleman.
I can't complaining I guess.

Chase: "thank you"

He placed all the blankets and pillows on the ground beside my bed

Chase: "it's funny how things change right? A few months ago we'd do anything to be together again and now we're purposely avoiding each other"
He laughed awkwardly

Charli: "you're right Chase. That is truly so funny."

I can't stop laughing right now.
That is hilarious.

He walked over to my desk drawer and looked at the framed pictures of me and a bunch of my friends

He picked up one of them

Chase: "The day we met"

I looked at the photo and it was the day we went on that hike

Chase: "the hike of a lifetime"

I barley remember that day. I would have, if I'd known I'd end up falling in love with him.

It wasn't exactly love at first sight...

Charli: "what was your first impression of me"

He smiled and thought for a second

Chase: "the first time I saw you was... grade 4 and I thought you were the most beautiful girl in the class. Not that the other girls weren't pretty. You were just the prettiest in my eyes. You'll always be the prettiest in my eyes."
