Poor kid , the story he told makes no sense , what orphanage would throw one out for so called financial reasons? Like if that was the case they probably would have placed at least half of those kids in another orphanage.
Not gonna lie, something felt sus af .
- Perfect , strong sturdy wood , ideal to hang myself - Dazai's excited voice got me out of my thoughts . He was eyeing the ceiling , a wooden pillar .
- Dazai ! - Kunikida yelled out
- No no , Kunikida kuuuuun , you have never heard of the hanging health method ? Quick quick take notes !
The blond man took out his notebook and started writing : The Hanging Health Method .
- Just messing with you - Dazai chuckled .
And with that , all hell broke lose . Kunikida went crazy and started choking the brunette .
Atsushi and me were staring, both of us having the same thought : wtf ?!
It took a few minutes for the said hell to settle down . Kunikida finally calmed himself .
He and Atsushi got into a conversation, the grey haired boy asked about our jobs . At least I think that's what he asked , his mouth was full and I didn't understand a word he said .
However my coworker did ... how even ? He told Atsushi that our current job isn't classified, and that we are in search of a weretiger .
The young boys face dropped and pure terror crawled up on his eyes .
- No , the man eating tiger , it's after me - he screamed and jumped off the chair he sat on , making his way towards the door on all fours .
Kunikida stopped him and questioned the kid . Who explained that back in the orphanage, the man eating tiger attacked some nights , destroying sheds , killing chickens and other smaller animals . He left the orphanage two weeks ago , and came to Yokohama, the first sightings of the weretiger were around that time . He might be right , it could be after him . And that would explain why the orphanage put him out . Tho I still find it despicable to throw a young helpless boy in the streets .
After a short discussion Dazai came up with the idea to catch the tiger using Atsushi as bait .
- Are you crazy ?! It's a man eating tiger , and it's after Atsushi !!! No ! It's way too dangerous, Dazai no offence but I don't think you , or anyone of us would stand a chance against that thing . - I was shaking .
Kunikida agreed with me , but to my misfortune Dazai came up with a plan . He was gonna wait at an abandoned warehouse close to the river , together with Atsushi , Kunikida just needed to be close by in case they would need extra reinforcements. Me , I could go home . It was my first day and my hours have ended a while ago . Besides , it was indeed too dangerous of a mission for me .
We said our goodbyes in front of the restaurant, and I took the bus to my flat .
After about 15 minutes I arrived home , I took Lily for a walk , fed her , fed my rats , and I was gonna watch some tv .
However I couldn't take my mind off of the whole Atsushi-Weretiger situation. Will they be okay ? Is it really okay for me to relax at home while my colleagues are risking their lives ? Or am I overreacting and this whole thing isn't as dangerous as it seems ?
I stood up , grabbed my coat , and went out . I gotta help out , I have to . This whole thing is just too suspicious. Why would Dazai be so calm ? Why would Kunikida agree to this plan of his ? And Atsushi ? The whole story of him is just sus .
I arrived at the warehouse, went inside to find Dazai and the orphan .
I accidentally kicked over an empty box , and I heard a scream .
- The man eating tiger it's here , it's gonna kill me - the scream belonged to a terrified young boy .
- Don't worry Atsushi kun , I'm sure it was just the wind - A weirdly calm toned voice said .
- It's me , not the wind . Dazai , Atsushi . - I walked towards them .
- Y/N what are you doing here - Mr . Scheming Bastard smirked at me .
- I couldn't just sit home while you are trying to catch a tiger - I shrugged , trying to act cool. The truth is , I was scared . The terror earlier in Atsushi's eyes flashed in my head .
At that moment we heard some more boxes being knocked over . Atsushi had enough he screamed and fell down .
The blue moonlight shined on him , the sight would have been beautiful, if he wasn't transforming into a tiger .
That's right , as he fell , under the light of the moon that shined in through a broken window , the young boy has transformed into a huge white , black striped tiger .
- What the ?!!! Atsushi ?!!! Dazai , what's going on ? - I wasn't even hiding my fear anymore . I started backing up , not taking my eyes off the tiger . Who has now looked at me .
And then he jumped. I was fast enough to dodge , but then it turned towards Dazai . The tiger reached out to claw him . But the man jumped away just in time . The tiger went after him , Dazai dodged every attack of it . I stood there , frozen , amazed , and scared . I didn't expect that suicidal maniac to have moves like this . His tall skinny figure didn't really suit the part .
The tiger was about to jump right on him , going for a straight kill .
Dazai then held out his hand , and with his pointer finger , touched the weretiger on the forehead.
- Ability: No Longer Human - he said . And with that a greyish blue light surrounded the two , and the tiger turned back into a silver haired young boy again . He fell on his knees in front of Dazai , his face against the bandaged man's chest .
Who pushed him to the side .
- I'm sorry but I'm not interested in men that way - He said .
The orphan fell face first . His butt up , it was a funny sight to see. Although I couldn't smile about it .
