Chapter 10

Ranpo and I arrived back to Yokohama in the afternoon. Both of our hours were over , I walked him to the dorms and headed home .
When I got in my apartment I was greeted my an excited Lily . I gave her some food , then I went to tend for the rats .
I almost forgot about the DM I saw from Chuuya earlier . I got time to check it now and reply .

Crushedbygravity: Hey , it was great playing with Lily the other day . We could go on walks like that again once I'm back .

Of course , he really is obsessed about dogs . Funny guy .

Twistyourgame: Hahaha , you really like dogs I see , do you have any on your own ? I would like that , when are you coming back ?

About a minute after I hit send , I got a reply .
He is fast , I thought .

Crushedbygravity: Why does it take almost 2 days to respond to a message?

Twistyourgame : Excuse me ?! Were you sitting around waiting for my reply ? 😁

Crushedbygravity: I'm back in a few days . What kept you so busy ?

Twistyourgame: work . You know , new job , new people.

Crushedbygravity: I see , now I'm worried

Twistyourgame: worried about my well-being? How sweet .

Crushedbygravity: I'm worried that Lily is being neglected.

Twistyourgame: FYI. She is being spoiled every day . I gave her more than enough care .

Crushedbygravity: Yet you couldn't reply to a message for 2 days .

Twistyourgame: Ohhhh Great Chuuya please forgive my negligence. Forgive me for not replying the second you sent me that DM.

Crushedbygravity: I can forgive this time , don't let it happen again .

Funny guy . I think he really is gonna be a good friend .
I was smiling to myself the whole evening, thinking about the redhead .
The next day was uneventful to say the least , well if I don't count the hundred advances Dazai has tried to make . That man gets my blood to boil . Apparently him coming late to work reeking of alcohol is the norm . Don't even get me started on his obsession with suicide. He has asked me every hour if I wanted to commit double unalive with him . I mean it's not like I want to live , but I also don't really wanna die . Dazai however thinks it's the most romantic thing ever . Thank goodness I don't want him to romance me .
I heard about Atsushi's test . Poor kid , they did him dirty . Junichiro acted as the bad guy , He tied Naomi up and with a fake bomb he threatened the agency . In the end TigerKittyBoy used himself as a shield to protect everyone from the bomb . They really let him go that far .
Later on I got a chance to shadow Kenji . He had to investigate a robbery. He is the youngest member of the agency, only 14 years old . President Fukuzawa recruited him 2 months ago . Up until then he lived in a small village . City life was all new to him .
I didn't really understand how a child of 14 is fine to work at the Agency . Especially him ? He is like sunshine, golden hair , huge pure golden eyes that radiate his childish innocence, cute freckles all over his face , and a never fading smile .
He wore the same outfit everyday , white longsleeve , a jeans overal with a belt , and a straw hat tied around his neck . And flip flops . I mean go for it , but I don't think the centre of Yokohama is the right place to wear flip flops.
We went around the neighbourhood, Kenji knew everyone, and they all seemed to either love him , or were terrified of him . I understand the loving him side , he is incredibly polite and helpful . But I don't understand how you can be terrified of this little sunshine ? Just look at him , he couldn't hurt a fly .
The case was easy , Kenji asked a few shop owners if they saw anyone suspicious, one of them did . According to him few days ago after closing time he did some paperwork in the store , when he looked out of the window he saw someone lurking around the shop that got robbed . By the description Kenji knew where to find the culprit. We have tracked him down , the guy didn't resist when he saw the blond child , instead he confessed and waited with us for the police .
I wish every case was easy like this.
The next day Atsushi and me were assigned to work with Junichiro. And Naomi as it seems like she is glued to her brother .
We were about to question our client, it was an easy case , probably some gang messing around by the port , smugglers .
- Ohhh such delicate hands, would you do me the honour to strangle me , my beautiful lady - Dazai kneeled in front of the client , holding her hands .
This is gonna be a disaster, I thought . And guess what ? It was . Kunikida dragged him to the supply room and beat him sooo soo so badly . His screams were heard throughout the whole building .
The blond girl seemed calm and ignored it all .
We were about to head out to investigate the area , when Kunikida stopped us . He showed Atsushi and me a picture of a man , for some reason I got the feeling I saw him somewhere before . A tall, dark haired man . He wore a long black coat , a white fringy shirt . His eyes were cold grey , carried a ruthless expression. Just by the picture I knew , if I ever to meet him , I'm dead .
- He is a Port Maffia member , Ryunosuke Akutagawa. He is extremely dangerous. If you ever see him , run . - The man said .
- There isn't much we know about him that's why we just call him a maffioso - Dazai added .
I looked at Atsushi, we both had the same panicked expression.
- Come on , it's just a patrol job , don't worry we won't run into the Maffia - Junichiro stated with a soft smile .
- I'm coming too , I go everywhere my dear sweet brother goes - Naomi hung on her sibling .
