6. Determination

It was first time in a couple weeks Inora was out in the village. Her arm healed completely and she felt better.

She saw the extent of damage the nine tail beast caused on her village. She learned that not only her parents but countless shinobi lost their lives in the attack.

She stood there silently watching everyone mourn the death of the people they loved. It was the funeral for everyone who lost their lives during the nine tails attack.

She hated the look everyone gave her. It was the look of pity. She didnt want to be pitied by anyone. Everyone was extremely sad to learn the death of Yellow Flash of the leaf. They looked at her as if she was some lonely fragile weakling. She didnt like that.

Jiraiya gave her shoulder a small squeeze reassuring her she wasnt alone. She looked around and her eyes met Itachi's. He gave a nod in reassurance.

Being with Itachi helped her really great. Itachi always made sure to never make her feel lonely. Mikoto would prepare healthy dishes to get Inora back on her feet and she was extremely greatful.

"How are you feeling Inora?" Itachi asked. Both of them were laying by the river stargazing. Inora thought about it for a moment "I feel determined" she replied.

"I will become strong. I will surpass my father and protect everybody I cherish. And I will make them proud and make sure to become someone who Naruto can look upto" Itachi smiled at her words. He always admired her positivity. Even though she is not as cheerful as she used to be, he was determined to stay with her and help her become the person she wants to be.
That is what friends are for right?

"This is ridiculous. Naruto is not an orphan. He has me. I am his sister" Inora was fuming with anger when the third Hokage told her that Naruto has to grow alone in a nursing home until he was five and he wont be told about his family.

"I can take care of him"

"You are a kid yourself and you think you can take care of a new born baby?" asked Danzo. Inora gritted her teeth in anger.

"This is for both of your safety Inora. If someone comes to know that he is Minato's son he might become a target. And the fact that he is a jinchurikii puts him and you in more danger. It is better this way atleast until he is old enough to understand why his parents sacrificed their life." the current Hokage Lord Hiruzen calmly explained to the kid bubbling in anger.

Inora maybe a kid but she is no fool. She understood his point. If someone was to attack them again, she was not strong enough to protect herself let alone protect her brother. She thought about it for a few minutes

"Fine. I agree. But you cant stop me from seeing him. Dont worry he wont know the truth." She stated. Even though it hurts to do this, she knows it was for the best.

The elders sighed in relief. "And Inora you have been enrolled in the academy. You will start in a month."

"Thankyou Lord Hokage. I will take my leave."
