40. Mom

10 days. With the help of Lord Fukasaku and a few tips from Naruto, Inora managed to master the Sage Jutsu in 10 days. She was back in the village and saw everybody preparing rapidly for the war. She went to Hokage to report that she was back.

"Tsunade sensei!" Inora called out to the woman who was busy giving orders. Kakashi was also there. "Inora!" Kakashi said surprised. "You are back earlier than I imagined Inora." Tsunade said. "Yeah sensei. I learned what I could and I am back. Where is Naruto? I couldnt find him anywhere?" She asked. Tsunade explained how the 5 Kage's decided to hide the 8 and 9 tails jinchuriki.

"You are kidding right? They could be a massive asset for us in this war. Why would they decide to hide them?" Inora asked confused and irrirated. "I know that. But given the fact that the war is also to protect the 8 and 9 tails, it was decided that is the best to hide them from the enemy's reach." The Hokage explained. Inora sighed "Naruto wont stay still if he comes to know this. Anyway lets hope we wont be forced to a situation to use them. We have to win this war no matter what." She said determined.

Time skip - few months later

All of them were prepared. The war was about to start soon. Shikaku Nara was one of the biggest brains of the war. He managed to put together shinobies under 5 companies. But he was in quite a struggle to decide a company for Inora. She was a great medic, an amazing sensor and also an outstanding mid and close range shinobi with great speed and strength. After a few discussions and conversations it was decided that Inora would be in the Third company as the second in command after Kakashi Hatake. Everyone was supposed to gather tomorrow and they were planning on striking first.

"You should get some sleep Inora. Considering the fact that we both will be under pressure of giving out commands and ensure victory to our company, it is better to get all the rest we need." Kakashi advised the redhead who was busy all day. "Yeah. You are right. You should get some sleep too. See you tomorrow Kakashi." Inora said and left in hopes of getting some much needed rest for her body and mind.

Inora opened her eyes and found herself in a different place. She was inside Naruto's psyche. She looked confused. "Did Naruto try to release his seal again? Did something bad happen?" She whispered to herself a little nervous. But the sight in front of her made her freeze.

Inora saw Naruto hugging a redhead.

"Mom?" Inora asked which made them break the hug. "Oh dear! Is that you Inora?" Kushina asked looking at her little daughter who wasnt so little anymore. Inora ran towards her mother hugging her tightly while Naruto stood there with a wide smile on his face.

"Its really you. I missed you so much mom." Inora whispered with tears in her eyes. "I missed you too." The elder woman replied hugging her back. "Where to start? I wanted to ask you a lot of things." Jumped an overly excited Naruto. Kushina chuckled. "You can ask me anything but first let me handle that guy over there." She said and released the chains from her chakra holding the nine tails in place.

All 3 of them sat there while Naruto was really giddy. He still couldnt believe that he was with his mother. "There is one thing I really wanted to ask you if I ever had the chance to meet you mom. How did you and dad fell in love anyway?" Naruto asked making Kushina blush. Inora chuckled at her furiously blushing mother. "I am also curious mom. I never knew the story. How did you manage to get the attention of Konoha's Yellow Flash?" Inora asked.

Kushina told her children the story of how she met and fell in love with Minato. Inora and Naruto were shocked to know that she was a jinchiruki. But either way their love story was beautiful. "Enough about me kids. What about you both? Inora? I was pregnant with you when I was your age you know. Got a hot boyfriend?" Kushina asked teasingly making the Crimson Flash blush like crazy. Naruto chuckled "Oh yes. She did have someone but none of us knew about it until recently." Naruto said. Inora's smile fell a little and she became silent thinking about Itachi.

Kushina noticed her daughter's change in mood. "What is it dear? You can tell me you know" she said smiling at her. Inora told everything about her story with Itachi while the elder redhead listened carefully. "I cant believe Mikoto's son did all that. It must have been because of the nine tails incident that the village doubted the Uchiha. But Itachi was always a cute and wonderful kid. I am happy for you dear. He is a wonderful shinobi and a man who prioritizes peace, just like your father. You picked the right man. He will wake up soon. Your love is more than enough to heal him dear." Kushina said to her daughter sincerely making the younger tear up. "Thank you mom. He would be really happy to know that you approve him." Inora said with a tear rolling down her face. Then they all heard the angry growl of the Nine tails.

"Lets take care of him shall we?" Kushina asked with a smirk. The 2 siblings reciprocated the same smirk and nodded. Kushina held the nine tails with her chains while Naruto created a lot of shadow clones. Inora helped Naruto to move at a high speed confusing the Nine tails. The beast suddenly tore off the chains holding him and swatted Naruto's clones. Kushina used some more of her chakra concentrating on the beast's leg and succeeded in making him lose his balance. Both Inora and Naruto switched to Sage mode.

Naruto hit the nine tails with a giant rasengan barrage while Inora prepared for her attack. Nine tails took some damage after that attack. "Oh no. We are not done yet. Naruto stay out of the range.

Lightning style: Rasenexplosion" she charged towards the beast with what seemed like a mini rasengan which she managed to perfect during her training in Mount Meyaboku. She can perform 1 rasenexplosion during the Sage mode.

Naruto looked confused as to what that small ball would do. As soon as the ball hit the nine tails Inora teleported back to Naruto and he was shocked at the amount of power the jutsu held. It was a blinding massive explosion. The beast was weakened and Naruto succeeded in taking some of his chakra. Inora saw the bright yellow and orange cloak covering her brother. Then they both noticed the nine tails preparing to launch a tail beast bomb at them. Naruto immediately resealed the nine tails, locking him in.

"We did it." The siblings high fived each other while the elder redhead watched them proudly. Inora felt her chakra fading. She didnt have much chakra left to stay longer but she was happy that she was able to meet her mom. "I guess this is it mom. You should spend your remaining chakra to talk to Naruto. He was the one who never got the chance to spend time with you. I love you so much mom." Inora said hugging her tight.

"I am so proud of you dear. You did what you always wanted to do. You surpassed both of us. I love you more." Kushina replied hugging her back. Inora teared up hearing that and saw Naruto looking at the 2 redheads with a soft smile on his face. Inora nodded to her brother as a gesture of 'see you soon' and faded away.
