22. Fifth Hokage

It has been a couple months since Itachi told her the truth behind his actions. Jiraiya and Naruto finally returned with Tsunade. Tsunade was checking on Kakashi and Sasuke. They were finally awake. "You did a great job in maintaining their chakra level steadily" the Senju princess commented on Inora. "Both of you are good to go back home. But you should take it easy for a few days." She said to the 2 Sharingan users laying on the hospital bed.

Inora sensed Guy's chakra outside the room they were in waiting for them. "Tsunade sensei, there is this boy named Rock Lee. His situation is a bit complicated, you should check on him." Inora informed the elder woman.

"What are your thoughts on his report Inora?" Tsunade asked her. "His injuries are really bad sensei but isnt there a surgery that can performed? I lack experience for such advanced surgery which is why I thought of asking you." She said. "Is something wrong Princess Tsunade? There is a chance for Lee right?" Guy asked his eyes filled with hope. "It is true. A surgery can be performed but the success rate of such a complicated surgery is only 50%. If the surgery fails your student might die." The Sannin said to Guy. There was silence. "It all depends upon your decision Rock Lee. If you ask me I would say its better for you to quit being a shinobi." He said to boy who was silent the entire time.

"I should go and prepare for the ceremony. See you later Guy." The blonde woman said and left with the redhead. "Is there really no hope for Rock Lee sensei?" Inora asked as they both entered the Hokage's office. The elder woman silently went through the books that were stacked on the shelf. She picked up a book and started going through it. "Inora. I need you to pick some medicinal herbs for me. There still might be some hope."

Both Tsunade and Inora worked on coming up with procedures to increase the success rate of the surgery. They were able to increase it upto 58%. "It is not much but this is the best we can do. Now it all depends on Lee's decision." Tsunade said sipping on her sake.

"I am an Anbu Black Ops member who work under you direct command Tsunade sensei. I cannot do your paper works for you. You are the Hokage so you are supposed to do it." Inora said to the blonde woman who was complaining about having so much paper work. Shizune stood beside her advicing her not to act like this. "Oh save me the lecture you both. This is so annoying. I am not sure if I am cut out for this. Its all because of your damn brother. He impressed me so much that I finally gave in agreeing on becoming the Hokage." Inora smiled hearing her. She heard about how Naruto won the bet with Tsunade by learning the Rasengan.

She remembered how Naruto showed off the first Hokage's necklace to her. "Inora. You see this the First Hokage's necklace and I won the bet with Grandma Tsunade. Pervy sage told me it took you 3 months to master the Rasengan but I did it in 2 months. Isnt that awesome?" He said excitedly. "Yes it is. You are doing amazing." She said smiling and ruffling his hair.

Rock Lee's surgery was a success and he was adviced to take it easy for atleast 6 months. Guy was extremely grateful for both Tsunade and Inora.

Timeskip - a few months later.

"Whatt?? It has been going for almost a year and you are telling me now???" Tomura asked angrily looking at the Inuzuka who was apologising. The former team 8 was hanging out after a long time and Sato finally went public about his relationship with Hana Inuzuka. "Its not like I didnt trust you Tomura, its just we didnt feel comfortable enough so we decided to keep it a secret until we were ready." Sato explained.

"SATO!!!" their conversation was interrupted. It was a boy about Naruto's age. What was his name again? "Kiba?" Sato said. "You piece of shit." Kiba said and launched at Sato. He looked really angry and was about to punch Sato when he froze. Tomura used his Shadow possession jutsu to stop the angry looking kid. "What the hell do you think you are doing? Let me go. I will kill this bastard." He growled at Tomura.

"KIBA!!!" another voice was heard. It was Hana Inuzuka. "What exactly is going on here?" Inora asked confused. "Hana baby is everything alright?" Sato asked Hana. "She is not a baby. Dont call her that you worthless piece of shit." Kiba spat angrily. Hana slapped the back of his head. "That is my boyfriend. Watch your mouth or I will make sure to sew them shut." Hana warned her brother. Damn Hana is scary.

"I am sorry about that. Its just I told my family about our relationship and looks like my little brother is not too happy about it." Hana explained. Tomura released his jutsu and Kiba immediately grabbed Sato by his vest. "If you hurt her I will make sure to cut you into pieces and feed it to Akamaru." Kiba warned Sato. "Woof woof" barked the small puppy near Kiba and they both left.

"Woah. That was kinda scary. Looks like you have a lot to deal with eh Sato?" Tomura said. "He is just protective. Dont worry he will come around." Hana reassured her boyfriend. "We are happy for both of you" Inora said. "Thanks Inora." Hana replied. "I think we should leave them be. Lets go Tomura. See you later guys." Inora said and dragged Tomura with her leaving them alone.

"Do you have a secret boyfriend too?" Tomura asked. "Whaat? Why? Why would you think that?" Inora asked shocked. "Nothing just wondering." Tomura shrugged. Inora and Itachi have been meeting quite often ever since they confessed and it felt nice to spend time with someone you love. Inora felt bad for lying to her friend but she cant really tell the truth now can she? "I will let you know if I find someone." She said in hopes of making her friend buy her lie. And by the looks of it Tomura did buy it.

Inora made sure to use her free time to help Naruto and Sasuke train. They need to get stronger. She helped them whenever she could. "Thats enough for today guys. Dont you have a mission tomorrow? You should go and rest." Inora said. They bid their goodbyes and left.

"Inora Namikaze, you have been summoned by the Hokage." an Anbu informed her.

"Inora I have a solo mission which is perfect for you." The Sannin said sipping on her Sake. "Do you really have to drink during work Tsunade sensei?" She asked. "This is the only way to finish all this paper work without a headache. So as I was saying..." Tsunade explained the details of the mission. "I want you to leave within an hour." The Hokage ordered. "Got it." She bowed and left.

Little did she know that something completely unexpected was about to happen when she was away from the village.

Author's note:
I actually planned on including the main plot in this chapter but changed by mind to leave it with a cliffhanger. (if you could really call this chapter a cliffhanger)
