Because you can't just do that. You can't invest all your time into someone, you can't whisper in their ear, and breathe down their neck, and play with their hair, and look into their eyes, and make them feel like they're actually worth something to someone in this pathetic world, and then just walk the fuck away. You can't give someone a reason to live and then be the reason they wish they were dead...
