1. Listen to me: do not destroy yourself over him. I repeat: do not destroy yourself over him.
2. Take a deep breath. Take a look at your hands. The spaces between your fingers were not meant for his. Your hands are strong and you do not need to carry the weight of his love when you have the world in its entirety to capture.
3. Put the phone down. Let him be and let yourself be too. Your happiness does not depend on him and your life most definitely does not orbit around his; you can be hapy without him. Go be happy. Be in the moment that is; be here, now.
4. Do not pretend you don't know it has been 604,800 seconds since you last saw his face. You do know. And you continue waiting, yearning for lips to lips, skin on skin. Stop watching the clock; the moments you have lost cannot be relieved and the future does not hold still.
5. Do not throw away your self-worth into the hands of the next avaliable guy you see. Your lips might be thirsting and your skin might be craving a man's touch, but you will wake up in the morning with kisses plastered on your hips and an aching for someone who is not there.
6. Do not underestimate the power of a pint of ice-cream and sad songs. Cry it out until your shirt is painted with mascara and your pillow cover soaked with salty tears. Throw them both in the washer and watch your pain wash away.
7. Nothing hurts more than remembering what you wish to forget. Easy on the alcohol. It is not holy water; it will not rid you of your sins. You'll swear you see him standing across from you and your heart will long for the crescendos in his voice until your fingers dial his number and you feel your lungs struggling for air once you reach his voicemail.
8. Distract yourself. Find yourself. Let yourself heal.
9. Listen to your heartbeat. You are alive. And you are alive without him. Think of all the places you have yet to see and all the faces you have yet to meet. This is not the end.
10. Do not lash out on the world for giving you this heartbreak. Do not blame yourself for not being good enough. You were more than "good enough". You were lucky to have loved and been loved. Not all good things last.
11. You will be okay.
