Waiting For You - PINK

I'm back where I was standing 1 summer ago along the beach. The tide is rising and the waves crash on the shore where my feet dig into the stand. 3 minutes pass and you're standing next to me, looking out at the water and probably wishing for someone else's hand to hold. 4 weeks I've been here and I've seen you each day but it's not satisfying enough for me; I need to be with you, hold you, touch you. You hold up 1 finger to signal you want me to wait 1 minute. What you don't understand is that I've been waiting for you for 5 years. I just want you to tell me you need me, and I need you to tell me you want me. I pretend like I hate you but these waves aren't warmer than I imagine your touch to be. Why did I have to fall in love with a boy who was in love with the ocean instead of in love with me? 5 years is a hell of a long time to wait for someone who won't even look at you when you're screaming their name because you're drowning and you just realized you should've learned to swim before you stepped into the water.
