My mom always told me not to fall in love with things that could break your heart so I fell in love with the sunsets & how they can change colors in a matter of minutes. I fell in love with the way hot water feels when you stand underneath the shower head & let it spray over you for 10 minutes. I fell in love with the way animals get excited to see people regardless of how long they were away. I fell in love with the way the ocean pulled me off the sand & washed up a whole new being. I fell in love with the way his house smelled more like home than mine did. I fell in love with the way leaves sound when you step on them in autumn. I fell in love with the way artists use their hands to paint out their pain & sit back & watch people call it beauty. I fell in love with his heavy breathing while we were driving down the highway in comfortable silence. I fell in love with the story of a dancer's body as she made her legs look sad like my eyes. I fell in love with the grass & how it continues to grow no matter how many times you step on it. My mom told me I was doing so good but then I made a mistake & fell in love with a boy who could break my heart right in two.
