Muji POV
"We have to go where?"
I currently sat with Mya in her room.
She was drawing in her journal while I sat on her bed, reading a book about dragons.
It was pretty interesting.
"We have to go to the capital to get measured. It's a country requirement for all twelve year olds to attend in order to measure their ability and potential as an awakened or future hunter. It's also where we get to chose our hunter class and find out our mana affinity."
I hummed as I closed my book.
"So when are we leaving?"
"It's being held in a month, I'm just letting you know in advance."
I put my book up on the shelf before letting out a sigh.
"Welp, that gives me something to look forward to."
I stretched before turning to Mya and taking her book. Causing her to groan and try to snatch it back.
We were roughly the same height so keeping it away from her was a bit tough.
"Why are you messing with me? Give me the book."
"Let's go to the room."
"Fine just give me the book back."
I liked messing with Mya, she was funny.
"Say please."
"I'll kill you."
Timeskip
"Muji, How long will you be gone?"
I was currently standing in front of all my siblings. It was time for me to head out to the capital, so I had to go.
"For almost a week. I'll come back soon though, I promise."
Kaia sniffled, her and Kyle started crying when I said I would leave. Daiki wouldn't even look up at me.
"C-Can't we come Muji?"
"Y-Yeah! I wanna go too!"
I think they believe I'm abandoning them.
Karin was smiling like always though.
"I'll make sure everyone behaves while you're gone."
I smiled and gave Karin a hug.
"Thanks Karin...I can always count on you."
After giving her a hug, I got down in front of the twins.
"Hey, guys."
The two sniffled and wiped their tears.
"Don't leave us Muji!"
"We don't want you to go!"
I hugged them tightly, feeling them cry a bit.
"I'll be back, I promise."
I looked over to Daiki and ruffled his hair a bit.
"Daiki!"
Daiki looked up at me, tears in his eyes.
"Y-Yea?"
"Why are you crying man? I'll be back! I promise! When I get back, let's have a race."
Daiki smiled and wiped his tears.
"Y-Yeah. I'm gonna beat you."
I quickly boarded the carriage and took a seat, looking out the window. My siblings all waved with tears in their eyes besides Karin, who was holding it all together.
I loved that she had absolute faith that I would come back.
Mya, Mr Nate, Moira, and I all headed out to the capital. I was eager to find out what my mana affinity was.
I really didn't expect much for my potential as a hunter. From what Moira told us, 90% of talents come from royals or nobility.
It took us a few hours by carriage to get there, and the scenery was beautiful on the way. I seen lots of wildlife that I had only seen in books, and countless streams of water.
Nothing like the one near our old village.
Upon arriving to the capital it was nothing like the small village I came from. There were no food stands, just buildings all around.
People in suits of armor and people in robes walked the streets. The ground here was made out of some type of pretty bricks instead of rough concrete.
There were some type of lights hanging from poles outside. I never knew lights could be outside.
There was many other wonderful things here, and the surprises never stopped. We ended up finding an inn to stay the night at, it was like a small mansion.
"Woah...it looks so nice here."
"I know right. Muji, we're gonna stay up all night talking about-
"Oh no you won't. We're getting two separate rooms."
Moira grabbed Mya by the ear and began to pull her away, causing her to reach to out to me.
"Muji! Save me!"
"I'm sorry Mya...but it has to be this way."
"No~!"
"I'm sorry!"
I felt a hand land on my head.
"Hey, you're making a scene. Let's go brat."
"Yes sir..."
Me and Mr Nate headed up to our room and entered it. The room was just like the room back at Mr Nate's mansion.
"So spacious..."
"Go to sleep brat..."
Mr Nate landed on his bed and fell asleep, causing me to blink twice.
"Do old people all fall asleep this fast?"
A light knock on the door grabbed my attention, causing me to look over at the door. I walked over and opened it slowly, seeing a familiar head of blonde yellowish hair.
She held a finger up to her lips before speaking in a soft but loud whisper.
"Muji! Let's go!"
"Mya you can't whisper. Where's Moira?"
"She went to sleep. Old people sleep fast."
I hummed.
"Good to know. Ok, but go where?"
"Let's go explore! Duh!"
"Mr Nate would kill me. Let's just sit in here and talk."
Mya clicked her tongue.
"So boring."
"Shut up."
