Prism Swamp: Part 9

Muji POV

"So you saved us?"

I nodded.

"I couldn't just leave people here. It wouldn't sit well with me. The names Muji."

I was currently speaking to the leader of the adults party. He was a relatively short man with long brown dreads and green eyes. He looked a bit weird to me but weird in a cool way.

"Thanks so much kid. The names Lawrence. We won't forget this."

I nodded once again.

"No problem. If you're really that thankful then help us find our comrades and escape."

"Of course. We need to find ours too. Let me speak with my group mates and we can head out."

As Mr Lawrence walked away I looked back to my two group members.

"Can we trust them?"

"Yeah, there's no ill will coming from him. I don't sense any monsters for a bit so we should be fine to just leave."

Vas nodded as Chris just remained quiet. He hadn't really opened his mouth since he woke up.

"I guess the fear of dying made him gain some common sense."

"Hey Kid! We're ready to head out when you are."

"Then let's go."

We all exited the small room we were in, to my surprise it was a two way hallway. We seemed to be inside some kind of building.

"Where did this place even come from?"

As we walked I hoped we wouldn't run into any enemies. Without weapons we really couldn't do a lot if we ran into a group of Lizard men.

Well, those of us without much aura.

I didn't know how powerful these adults were but I hoped they could at least hold their own. As we continued to walk we came upon a walkway with two different paths.

"Where should we go?"

Lawrence walked over and tapped my shoulder, causing me to turn around.

"Yeah?"

"I think we should go left. Something about the right path creeps me out."

I hummed.

"Maybe it's adult's intuition. Alright we can go left."

We took the left, continuing the follow the down the path. As we walked for a bit, I could now sense a few multiple presences up ahead.

"No one panic, but there's a group of enemies ahead. They number 15."

The entire group began to panic.

"15? Me and my group couldn't even handle five. How are we supposed to-

I raised my hand up, making everyone calm down.

"Don't worry, we're here. We'll handle the majority of them, but 15 is too much for just us. You guys number 8, plus us it's a good 11. We can beat those odds as long as you can keep up."

I turned and looked at the group.

"So, can you keep up?"

Lawrence clenched his fist.

"We'll try. We can't be shown up by a bunch of kids."

"Good. On my command, we rush in."

I looked to Vas and Chris, who both nodded. I looked back in front of us before raising my head before clenching my fist.

I activated my aura and rushed into the room, clenching my fist and punching through one of the Lizard men. Chris and Vas came through right after me, attacking two more of them and instantly killing.

The fight was now 13 against 11, with them having two more numbers than us. The Lizard men all began to rush at us, however our adult group mates rushed in and began to battle against them.

I picked up one of the spears from the dead Lizard men as I rushed at one of them, stabbing it through the head.

I quickly dodged a strike coming from another one as Chris jumped on it and bashed its head in with his bare hands.

Monster.

I heard a scream as I looked and seen one of the adults get killed. I clicked my tongue and lobbed my spear at the Lizard man, stabbing it through the corpse of our fallen comrade.

"Muji watch out!"

I quickly moved out of the way as another Lizard man attacked me. Vas dashed by and shoulder tackled it, stomping on its head after doing so.

Seeing a spear flying towards Vas I rushed over and caught it before throwing it back at the Lizard man.

"There should be roughly 8 left."

"Muji!! Help!!"

I looked and seen Lawrence getting overpowered by a Lizard man. I sighed and dashed over, kicking the Lizard man in the side and knocking him off of Lawrence.

I felt a sharp pain in my side as I looked, seeing a Lizard man somehow snuck me and dug it's teeth into my side. Another Lizard man seen that opportunity to try and attack me, however Lawrence pushed me out the way and got bit.

"This isn't good!! Chris!"

Chris dashed in and punched the Lizard man that was on Lawrence knocking it off of him. I looked up and seen Vas kick the one that had bit me, allowing me to be free to move.

The remaining six Lizard man began to run away, running off deep into one of the dark path ways. I held my side with a click of my tongue.

"I was too focus on other people...I didn't notice it sneaking up on me."

I looked at our numbers, we had been dropped by 5.

"Luckily we're still alive. Let's keep moving everyone."

We all began to move once again as we came across a hallway with lots of rooms in it. After searching through all of them, we managed to find the girls, who were still unconscious.

Probably due to the poison from the Lizard men.

"Thank god Mari...you're ok..."

"I'll focus on waking everyone up, you guys keep watch."

"Right."
