Jax POV

I slowly opened my eyes, seeing a head of yellowish blonde hair in front of me. I had no idea what was going on, but I knew my shoulder hurt like hell.

"Are you finally up?"

I recognized the voice that spoke to me as Mya, she didn't seem too happy.

"Ye-

Before I could even finish she dropped me. As I hit the floor an aching pain shot through my body, causing me to yell.

"What the hell?!"

"You're heavy ok?! God I've been carrying you for like two hours. I'm surprised you're even awake right now."

I hummed.

"Where's Muji?"

"Up ahead. We have to walk for a bit longer."

I smirked slyly and began to tease her.

"Sheesh. You made sure he was safe and away from the fight didn't you?"

Mya clicked her tongue with a small blush.

"Oh shut up."

We continued to walk down the path, eventually reaching Muji. To both of our surprise he was up, doing one armed hand stands.

"You guys are back."

"Muji I'm gonna kill you!!"

Mya ran over to him furiously and began to yell at him. I just took a seat near the two as Muji tried to plead his case.

He was failing by the way.

"Now sit down! You are in no condition to be doing any type of exercise! What if your wounds reopen and you die?! What will I tell your siblings Huh?!"

Muji sat down with a semi depressed look. Mya sat down next to him and began to check his wounds.

"Jesus you scare me too often. The moment someone mentions your family though you want to act like a saint."

Mya turned to me.

"You have any family Jax?"

I hummed.

"Yeah, but we aren't really on the best of terms. It wouldn't be a stretch to say I want to kill them actually."

Muji gave me a look I had never seen, I couldn't exactly describe what it looked like though. I just know it wasn't a good look.

"What?"

"I couldn't imagine wanting to kill me siblings."

Mya chuckled.

"Oh we know Muji."

I wondered what type of people Muji's siblings are. Seeing's as they're younger than him, probably good kids.

"What about you Mya?"

"Actually I've been curious about your family for awhile too Mya. Even though we've known each other this long I know nothing."

Mya laughed a bit.

"My family isn't anything interesting. I have my grandpa and my uncle, Muji you know them. My parents were hunters, but they died when I couldn't even speak yet so I don't remember them. I have pictures though."

I hummed.

"Hunters huh? I wonder if they were anything special."

"According to Grandpa they weren't."

"Well that's explains why you're so weak."

Mya began to yell at me as I laughed, Muji just sitting there watching silently. After a bit we stood up and began to walk, heading all the way back to where I just finished fighting.

When we finally got there, we walked through the opening that was being blocked by this large groups of enemies.

"I wonder what's back here."

Muji nodded.

"I also wonder why they were willing to kill us to stop us from seeing it."

"I mean the monsters were trying to kill us regardless."

We continued to walk for about another two hours before taking a break. Mya passed out rations as we sat down and ate.

"So I've been meaning to ask, Muji how did you fall down the hole?"

He shook his head slowly and swallowed his food.

"I didn't. Shanna pushed me."

Mya gasped as I began to choke on my food, banging my chest.

"She pushed you?! Shanna?!"

Muji nodded.

"I don't know why though. She's always had a weird vibe about her but I didn't think it was that serious."

Mya clenched her fist.

"I'm gonna drag that bitch."

Muji raised an eyebrow a bit.

"Language Mya."

"Don't language me Muji! She tried to kill you! Jax back me up on this!"

I nodded.

"Mya's right Muji. Mya's feelings are well placed. In my humble opinion, dragging her is too light a sentence. I see her again I'm taking her head off her shoulders."

Mya frowned a bit.

"Killing her is a bit excessive..."

"Listen I got pushed so I'll deal with it."

Mya and I nodded.

"I still think you should kill her though."

"Stop being a bad influence Jax!"

I looked at Muji's face, it seemed like he was considering it.

"Forget that though guys, I have something to tell you. Earlier when I was alone, I found a book on a corpse. It said we would run into giant skeletons and skeletons that could use magic if we continued down the cave."

Mya and I both looked at Muji in surprise.

"The large one is something we've already seen, but are you sure about the magic ones?"

Muji shrugged.

"I'm just saying what the book said."

Mya let out a long drug out sigh.

"Why is it always us?! Never before recorded in history, but we have to be the first ones to experience it."

I laughed while cracking my neck.

"I say bring it. I'll kill everything!"

"You can't even kill them."

After taking our break we began to move once more. After walking for a bit more we came across a giant message in the wall, except it was in some symbols I couldn't understand.

"What the hell..."

I looked to Muji and Mya, it looked like they could read it.  That made me a bit mad but I left it alone and asked about it.

"Can you guys read it?"

The two nodded before Muji began to read it aloud.

"We are the warriors of his highness, Spectral, King of the undead. We have overcome death, as the prophesied Conqueror of death can not harm us. However beware of the Conqueror of life, and her bewitching powers, which can bring our entire lives to an end."

I hummed.

"What does that mean?"

Muji shrugged.

"I think it's just saying they can't die. I don't know who this Spectral guy is though."

Mya ruffled her hair with a groan.

"More complicated stuff!"

"Whatever let's just ignore it and keep moving."
