Muji POV
"I can't believe I missed such a fight!! Damn it I should've went with you Muji!"
"It must've been serious, look at these bruises..."
I currently sat with Jax and Mya, today we had Mana training, and it was the day after I sparred with Lapis.
"He's probably got the same amount. I just wish we could've finished our fight."
"Masochist."
"You would know wouldn't you?"
Mya began to blush as she hit Jax.
"What're you talking about weirdo?! Get out now!!"
Jax laughed as Mya chased him out. She turned back around and looked at me.
"I'll see you later...k?"
"See ya."
Mya dashed out the room as I stood up, stretching. My entire body was aching from immediately fighting after durability training.
"At least today is mana training. I wonder what we'll do today."
I exited my room, awkwardly encountering Adjest. She looked away from me, walking right past me and heading towards the stairs.
But she stopped before she went down them.
"Muji. I...I'm too embarrassed to look you in the eye and speak with you right now, but know that I'm working hard. I...just wanted you to know that."
With her back still turnt, she walked off as I let out a sigh before smiling a bit.
"Glad to see she hasn't changed."
I felt my stomach growl as I rubbed it a bit.
"Time for breakfast..."
Timeskip
"Alrighty, the pairings have been made! No changing or switching so don't ask."
I walked over to my partner, to which she smiled at me.
"I'm looking forward to working with you Muji."
"Yeah, thanks Shanna."
Shanna May, a noble with a very unique personality and appearance. She had long purple hair that was darker than my eyes, and her eyes had a circle around the pupils, very similar to how Lapis had two X like crosses in his.
I wondered if they're was a relation.
"Hey Shanna, what do you see?"
I accidentally blurted out my thoughts. She hummed and looked at me with a smile.
"Why do you ask?"
Now that this started I decided to just roll with it.
"Well you and Lapis both have shape like eyes, and Lapis told me a bit about his. It just made me wonder if you had the same or something similar."
Shanna gave a small smile.
"Death."
The circles in her eyes began to move as she stared at me.
"I can see the death of another person."
"W-Wait really?"
She laughed a bit before shaking her head.
"Of course not. Sorry but I don't see anything special."
She was lying.
I felt a bit salty but left it alone. It was her personal information, and I guess she didn't want to share such things.
"Alright for today's Mana practice, I want you both to balance your mana. Let it mash against each other and make it synchronize. You can use this for combo attacks, so it's very helpful during your hunter career. I want to see good clean meshes of mana, no clumpy and jumbled stuff."
Shanna and I held each other's hands and closed our eyes, beginning to let our mana flow. I hated this sort of mana practice because I had to make sure my poisonous mana didn't damage the other person as our mana connected.
I'm sure it was the same for everyone else, but most of my poison is lethal and can kill within minutes if the other person isn't strong enough.
"Alright Shanna, our mana is linked. Let's start this..."
"Right."
As we tried to intertwine our mana, it seems Shanna's was actively battling against mine. It seemed to be trying to refuse my mana with every ounce it had.
"Shanna? Are you doing that on purpose?"
She shook her head with a sly smile.
"I have no idea why it's doing this."
I could tell she knew something but it wasn't that important so I didn't really care. After failing to combine our mana the right way, Ms Shinmon made us run laps around Boken.
However we weren't the only ones running laps.
"Jax how did you end up running laps?"
Jax groaned.
"Because of that pipsqueak!"
I looked behind us, seeing Sky trying to keep up.
"M-Muji...h-help please...!!"
She looked like she was about to pass out.
"Shut up weakling! We're running laps because of you anyway!!"
"S-Sorry!"
Shanna laughed to herself.
"Go easy on her Jax, not everyone is as barbaric as you are."
"Shut up noble! I'm pissed right now!!"
I laughed a bit as we continued to run laps around Boken. It was tiring but between Jax's fury and Sky's crying it was pretty fun. After we finished our 15 laps, the four of us walked back to Boken, our legs feeling like they were about to fall off.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow..."
"B-Bye Muji."
"See ya Muji."
I walked up the stairs and went to my room, seeing a box in front of it. After grabbing the box I went into my room and placed it on my bed.
"Alright, now that's this?"
I sensed a bit of mana coming from it, which made it a bit suspicious. However my curiosity got the better of me as I ended up opening it, seeing a mana orb.
I used a bit of mana to turn it on as it floated up above the box. Shortly after, a few figures began to form.
"I-Is it working?"
"Yes Karin it's working."
I began to feel my heart squeeze.
"Muji! Hi! This is a visual magic spell that Mr Nate taught me! Even I can use it! Isn't that cool? I wanted you to see and hear me instead of just looking at my letters. I know it's been a little over half of year, but we miss you a lot Muji! The others are right here but...you can't see them because of the magic."
"Hi Muji!!"
"H-Hi Muji!"
"Me too Muji! I say hi too!"
Karin smiled as I felt tears beginning to well up in me eyes.
"We're still waiting so come back soon Muji! We love you!"
The magic Karin froze as the orb turned off before falling down into the box. I couldn't stop smiling and the tears just couldn't stop.
"You guys make me want to come home early..."
