Leona Estate: Part 3

Muji POV

We had never seen a place this big before.

It looked like I could explore it for at least two weeks and still not get to every place within the building.

"This is the Leona Estate Mansion. Owned by me of course."

I looked at Mr Nate, he had seemed so sophisticated now.

"Mr Nate...are you royalty?"

"Not at all, I just descend from a long line of Dukes."

I didn't know what a Duke was but I'm sure I would find out more later. The carriage door opened as Mr Nate and I stepped out. My siblings seemed too afraid to get out, despite wanting to go explore the mansion.

"It's ok, come on guys."

They all smiled and jumped out the carriage behind me, but stayed close. I followed Mr Nate, and the kids followed me as we got closer to the entrance.

When we got there, two men stood there with swords at their sides. Very large pointy swords, I had seen them in books.

"We greet the Duke!"

"Thank you, good work."

As we walked by the men looked at us, I could feel their animosity towards us. I don't know why, and I honestly didn't care.

"What are you looking at?"

I just knew I had to not look weak so that they wouldn't mess with us. It was a basic principal in all books about commoner discrimination. The men turned their heads as we continued to walk until entering the mansion.

Upon walking in there was a long red carpet and the floor was made out of some shining tiles. The kids all let out gasp and began to marvel at the sight of inside.

There were stairs leading up to a higher floor on both sides of the room, and a hallway in the middle of the stairs.

This was only the entrance, so I wondered how big the place really was.

"If it's alright with you Muji, I would like to have the maids wash and dress your siblings. Is that alright?"

The four younger children looked at me, I could see the fear of separation in their eyes.

"I'll take care of it, if it's ok, can you just bring us some of our clothes?"

Kaia and Kyle laughed happily while Daiki and Karin smiled widely.

"I'm afraid that can't be done, as I already begun having the maids wash them. However I do have some clothes that may be in your sizes."

"Those will have to do then. Thank you Mr Nate...where's the bath?"

"Follow me."

I nodded as we all followed Mr Nate up the stairs and into a very large bathroom.

"This place is larger than our house..."

"Uwaahh! Muji look! Bubbles!"

"I wanna play in the bubbles!"

"Come on Muji!"

Mr Nate left the bathroom while the rest of us just stood there.

"Alright everyone calm down, you know how to act when it's bath time. If you don't calm down, Muji will get upset."

The kids all lined up in front of me and Karin, trying not to move a lot. Karin smiled at me as I laughed a bit.

"Let's get this done."

Timeskip

"Look at me Muji! I look cool!"

"Muji look!"

"Look Muji!"

The three youngest were all very excited to be wearing new fancy clothes. I didn't know how to feel about this...Mr Nate was doing a lot for us.

And I didn't even know the reason.

"Muji do I look good?"

Karin was also like me, skeptical of this situation. However deep down she was still the little girl who smiled widely whenever she got a dress.

Good to see some things don't change.

"Yeah. You look great Karin."

Karin smiled and walked over to the other kids, who were acting fancy. I stood there watching them with a smile, but then I felt something or someone looking at us.

I turned around and looked behind us, but I didn't see anything.

"I could've sworn I felt someone."

Stealing and being a pickpocket required two things that I had developed, spacial awareness and a great instinct. You had to know who was a good target, who was around, who could be watching, any and all escape routes, and many other things.

So my senses have never failed me until now, and that time I got caught by Mr Nate.

"Muji."

I turned around, Mr Nate stood there once again. The kids all ran behind me, I guess they were still a bit afraid of Mr Nate.

"Yes?"

"I would like to show you the room you all will be staying in. I have more than enough rooms but I doubt you want to be split up."

"Thank you."

We followed Mr Nate to a very large room, it already had five different beds and dressers in it. This room was also probably more spacious than our house.

"Here you go."

The kids all began to run and jump on the beds, I wanted to say something to get them to stop, but Mr Nate seemed fine with it so I didn't stop them.

I pulled on Mr Nate's pants leg, causing him to look down.

"Can we talk?"

"Sure."

We stepped out of the room and shut the door, standing in front of the entrance/exit.

"What is it?"

I let out a deep sigh.

"Please hire me to work here."

Mr Nate raised an eyebrow.

"Why? Where did this come from?"

"I...I can't leach off of you forever. While I'm thankful for what you're doing for us, it doesn't feel right to just sit here and accept it all without giving nothing in return."

Mr Nate looked at me, I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

"So Mature at such a young age...it must've been your situation that your mind adapted to that made you this way."

I nodded.

"I believe that as well. Back to the topic sir, please allow me to work here in exchange for the housing."

Mr Nate rubbed his beard.

"Alright then, I'll assign you a job after you go through proper butler training."

I bowed my head a bit.

"Thank you sir."

I walked back into the room, seeing Karin standing near the doorway.

"Brother? Are you alright?"

I nodded.

"More than alright Karin."

I smiled as I walked over and hugged her tightly, causing her to laugh.

"I'm doing great!"

"Pick me up too Muji!"

"I want hugs!"

"Me too!"
