Alana POV
"Would you look at that."
I watched Muji and Lapis from a bit of distance, Naki standing next to me because I asked him to come with me.
"So why'd you drag me here?"
"Look."
Naki looked.
"I don't have my glasses so I can't see from this far."
"Got damn it Naki go get them before they start."
"Why what's going on?"
I smirked nervously in anticipation.
"Two of the most promising kids at Boken are about to go at it."
"I'll be right back."
I laughed a bit as Naki dashed off at light speeds. I turned back to battle as I watched in excitement.
"Let's see what you two can do"
Muji POV
"You know I won't go easy on you because this is a spar right?"
Lapis laughed with a yawn and a stretch.
"Muji, before we fight let me paint a picture for you. I am essentially a man who can see the future, due to the help of sound."
I raised an eyebrow.
"Really now? That's interesting."
"My sound waves tell me everything, from actions to emotions, before they're even made or felt. However there's one thing that doesn't produce sound waves."
He pointed at me.
"You. Don't. Produce. Sound. Not even a heartbeat."
Lapis stopped stretching as he got into a battle position.
"So in a way Muji, you're the only person on earth who could possibly beat me when we're at similar strengths. My ratio right now is 8:8, I haven't really grown since coming to Boken. I haven't trained much either, I have no motivation for that type of stuff."
I got into one as well.
"Really, and you're that strong?"
"You're the exact opposite. I don't know you're exact ratio but it's fair to say we're almost, if not equal to one another with me having the slight edge. You're growth rate is insane, and your combat is advanced."
"Ok so what was the point of this speech?"
Lapis laughed a bit.
"Because of you, I'm starting to want to get stronger, and I hate that."
"Blame yourself."
Lapis burst out into a eruption of white aura, causing me to smirk.
"So were serious, we using magic or?"
"Let's save that for another day."
"Do you even have any spells? I've never seen you use one."
"You'd be a fool to assume otherwise."
I activated my aura, it's purple color surrounding me.
"Let's do this."
Lapis rushed at me and began to throw a flurry of punches at an incredible speed. I blocked and parried the blows before countering with a sharp right jab.
To my surprise, Lapis was fast enough to block it swiftly before going for a counter with two more punches.
I dodged the first punch before catching the second, pulling Lapis into a headbutt. Lapis then flipped back with a sharp kick upwards, causing me to lean back to avoid the blow.
"He's good."
Lapis rushed back in with a kick swinging it towards me. I quickly dodged back as he put a crater in the ground, but then he lifted his other leg and back kicked towards me.
I brought my arms up and blocked the kick but flew to a nearby tree. I landed on the tree before pushing off of it and flying back towards Lapis with a punch.
Lapis dodged the punch but I spun on my leg and went for a backhand, to which he blocked. I then grabbed his arm and flipped over, pulling him with me and slamming him on the ground.
Lapis kicked me off of him before slamming his leg down. I rolled over and dodged the leg slam before pushing myself back into my feet.
I put my hands up defensively watching Lapis rush in to attack me once more.
"Let's pick up the pace Muji."
Lapis threw a punch, but it turned out to be a faint as he spun around and went for a kick. I ducked the punch but instantly had to flip back, dodging another kick.
Lapis rushed back at me as he began to attack with a flurry of kicks, he seemed to be more serious about this now.
"Come on Muji you won't win by playing defense."
I growled before taking the next blow in order to create an opening. Upon finding it, I punched Lapis in the face, the first real clean blow of the battle.
Lapis smirked a bit and kicked my chin, causing me to suddenly see the sky. We both recovered our ground and rushed back in as I threw a punch, to which he swiftly dodge and punched me.
I took the punch and threw one back, hitting his face. He went for a kick as I grabbed his leg and threw him into a tree, rushing over to kick his stomach.
Lapis dodged as I knocked the tree over, turning to block a kick that sent me into a tree as well. Lapis jumped over to me with a punch as I threw one as well, everything within range being blown away by the clashing of our auras.
As we clashed, I could see a genuine smile of excitement on his face.
"That's what I'm talking about Muji! More!"
I began to smile myself.
"Who am I fighting, Jax? Don't regret this later!"
We began to punch each other, fist full of aura. I dodged a punch and punched Lapis in the stomach, a shockwave being sent throughout the forest.
Lapis grit his teeth and punched me into the ground, a crater forming. I laughed as I cocked my fist back, Lapis doing the same.
Before we could connect someone grabbed my arm and I felt an impact hit my stomach. I could see Ms Shimon subduing Lapis.
"The hell is wrong with you two? This was supposed to be a spar and you're destroying damn near half of the forest."
I looked around, seeing we did indeed destroy the forest a bit.
"My bad Ms Shinmon."
The man who subdued me hummed.
"Not bad."
"Thanks?"
I now remembered him, I fought him a bit back in Prism Swamp.
"You two are going without dinner."
I sighed.
"Yes mam..."
"Muji."
I looked to Lapis, raising an eyebrow.
"Next time we have an actual fight, I won't hold anything back."
I smiled a bit.
"You better start training then, because I'm going to get a lot stronger."
