Muji POV

"Mages! You'll have to use destructive spells to completely destroy their bones. Remember they can't reform from being obliterated! While the mages prepare, attackers, go attack!"

Jax laughed as he drew his axe, rushing out to the battlefield.

"Say no more Ms Shinmon!"

I sighed, chasing after him. I didn't feel comfortable fighting on this particular part of the cave.

The ground was super weak.

"Jax wait up."

As the other attackers chased after us, we jumped head first into the battle. Jax slammed his axe on the ground as Darkness rose up in spikes, piercing multiple skeletons and throwing them in the air.

I jumped up, cutting the limbs and head off of some of the skeletons. It wouldn't kill them, but it would immobilize them for a bit, and that was more than enough.

Our goal was to buy time for the mages to cast big spells and destroy the enemies.

"Hopefully nothing goes wrong."

I hit the ground and went to attack, but I felt a presence zooming towards me.

"Lower your head scoundrel!"

"A simple duck would've worked!"

I ducked my head as Ray zoomed past, his sword ablaze. He slashed at the group of skeletons, some of them catching on fire and others just continuing to walk towards him.

Ray jumped back and stood beside me, I couldn't even see anyone else for a bit.

FIt was two on seven.

"It seems we are own for the meantime villain."

"Yeah. The others are still nearby but getting to them might be difficult."

Ray laughed a bit and raised his sword in a battle stance.

"I'd rather not trust my arse to a mongrel such as yourself but I have no choice. Here's to a good camaraderie."

"Oh come on, I'm not that bad."

We both rushed in, Ray going for the first attack with a forward vertical slash. The first skeleton was stunned briefly, allowing me to follow up with a kick, knocking it back.

A second skeleton went to grab my leg as Ray quickly cut its arm off before removing its head. A third went to grab Ray as he was open, however I quickly cut it in half before jumping back.

Ray and I watched as the skeletons we destroyed reformed themselves and the other ones began to push towards us.

"Curses. Such an atrocious ability."

"Yeah it's definitely annoying. Watch out, they're coming."

I zoomed over to attack the first one, wanting to start with an upper hand. When I went for a punch, I suddenly felt my aura disappear.

I quickly punched the inside of my arm to recoil it before jumping back, Ray jumping back after me.

"What's the matter?"

I watched my hand twitch, this was the first time this happened to me.

"My aura...it's gone."

Ray clicked his tongue.

"Rats. Not this accursed entity."

"Buy me some time Ray."

"That I shall."
