Mya POV a bit earlier

As I was providing many buff spells and various debuff spells, I felt my mana running low, but thanks to Iris I was being replenished easily.

Shanna and Sky were attacking with their spells as well, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. No wolves had broken through the first line of defense, I was feeling hopeful about this.

"We can do this! There should be about a few hundred more. Muji we're going to-

My train of thought cut itself off when I seen a werewolf standing behind Muji. My heart dropped as I began to run over.

"Mya what are you doing?! Get back in formation!!"

"Mya!! Hey!!"

The werewolf hit Muji, sending him flying into the forest. I quickly continued to run, dodging the wolves that were attacking me. I ran and ran, following the trail of broken trees.

When I arrived, it was an open area inside of the forest. I seen Muji barely standing up. I continued to run over as the werewolf closed in on him. I jumped over when I was close enough, tackling him right before the werewolf hit him.

As we hit the ground I quickly stood up, holding my spear tightly.

"Muji. Are you ok?"

I could feel Muji was upset.

"N-No. What are you doing here?! Mya!!"

I laughed nervously.

"At the practice exam, you saved me three times at the cost of your own life. Muji, I want to be someone you can rely on. I've been secretly training, hoping to awaken aura."

I began to think about my struggles. I would stay up until the sun arose again, training until my hands bled. I would try again and again hoping to awaken aura.

"I want...to fight beside you Muji. Even if I'm a supporter."

I looked back at him, smiling.

"Is that so wrong?"

"Are you finished?"

I turned back around, the werewolf was right in front of me. I felt my heart rate speed up as he raised his arm, about to swing.

My entire life began to flash before my eyes as I stood there, unable to move.

A victim to my own fear.

"Mya!! Move!!"

On instinct I quickly arched backwards, dodging his attack by a hair. I quickly jumped back and held my spear tight, unable to tell what was going on.

"My body...it feels so...light."

"So you weren't just useless trash after all. It doesn't matter, you will die here."

My memories for some reason went to the day I met Muji, a spark going through my entire body. As the wolf rushed at me again, I quickly dodged its attacks with ease.

Moving in ways I never had before.

"What's going on? I feel so..."

I smiled widely as I swung my spear, almost landing an attack on the werewolf.

"I feel so good!"

The werewolf jumped back as it stood at a distance.

"Mya..."

I turned around.

"I'll be ok Muji! I'll protect both of us."

"Your eyes...they're gold...and you're glowing..."
