Muji POV
"So you're saying we should start training or something?"
I began to drink some of my water while waiting for a response.
I currently sat in Mya's room with her like always. We were playing a game of four in a line, as a way to pass the time.
Moira had stopped teaching us about hunter things, so we had nothing to do now.
"Yep. When I was talking to grandpa earlier, he said getting a hunters license is pretty hard. We apparently have to take an exam just to take the actual exam that'll last an entire year."
The water got caught in my throat, causing me to cough. The information took me by surprise.
"A year?! I can't possibly be separated from my siblings for a whole year. They'll definitely think I abandoned them."
Mya rolled her eyes.
"No they won't. We're not going to take the exam anytime soon anyway, and once we do they'll be older and more understanding."
I hummed.
"When will we take it then? The first exam I mean."
"The sooner the better and the minimum age requirement is 16. Once we turn 18 we can become official hunters since we would've already taken the exam."
"So in four years then."
Mya nodded as she made her move, it now being my turn. I picked up one of my pieces as the conversation continued.
"Yup. I'm just saying we should definitely become as strong as possible. Let's say we don't train and we go, and then end up dying! Grandpa said it's very gruesome and hundreds to thousands of people die every exam."
I placed my piece down and let out a confused hum.
"Is that even legal?"
"The King of the country a few decades back approved it, saying as long as you sign the consent form stating that you know your life is at risk and agree to take it anyway."
"Valid I guess."
Mya placed a piece down, making it my turn.
"But why?"
"Being a hunter is a job that requires you to constantly put your life on the line. So the year long exam basically weeds out the weak ones who don't have what it takes and only allows the stronger ones to graduate with a hunters license."
I hummed.
"So getting strong will help us."
"I'm just saying we should definitely try and make sure we get as strong as we can before taking it. It's important that we do it soon though because young hunters get more love and attention since they have more room to grow. They get sponsored by all the big guilds and stuff."
I placed my piece and won the game, causing Mya to kick it away in a fit.
"Why not go when we're seventeen?"
"It'll look better on our resume."
"You sure know a lot about this stuff Mya."
She nodded.
"Of course, I've been studying since before I knew you. Also, we'll call that game a tie."
"I won though."
"Shut up."
I stood up and stretched, Mya standing up too.
"So how should we train and stuff?"
