Blood Moon Forest: Part 5

Muji POV

"So, what happened to your guardians?"

I was currently speaking with Ms Shinmon. We had ran into them whilst here in the Blood moon forest.

"We ran into that humanoid wolf thing about a day ago."

"A werewolf?"

"If that's what they're called."

Ms Shinmon hummed.

"You guys should be dead."

I scratched the back of my neck.

"We...pulled through somehow. My poison weakened it severely, so I think that's how we were able to beat it. On top of my little power boost."

"Good job Muji."

I nodded, looking over to our squads.

"So, are we splitting up again?"

"No point really. There's only three days left and you already survived this long, and your two guardians are injured. I'll take over as party leader so we'll just form one big party. Alright kiddo?"

I nodded as Ms Shinmon patted me on the back.

"Now go talk to that girlfriend of yours."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Who?"

"Mya."

"Oh, we-

A loud noise got both of our attention as we looked over to the party members. They were just fine, so I began to look around, seeing if I could sense anything.

When I actually paid attention, I sensed enemies from all directions.

I clicked my tongue.

"Muji."

It was Lapis.

He walked over with a yawn.

"There's a lot of enemies around us."

"I know Lapis."

Ms Shinmon grabbed my shoulders.

"How many?"

I swallowed a nervous gulp.

"By my count, at least a thousand. They've already surrounded us to, I noticed too late."

Ms Shinmon rubbed her forehead.

"Damn it...horned wolves aren't smart enough to do this alone, so a werewolf is probably telling them what to do. One werewolf can't command this many, so there's at least three of them."

Ms Shinmon let out a large sigh.

"Everyone gather up!!"

Like Ms Shinmon told us, we all gathered up around her.

"Listen up, there are very large enemy numbers and they've surrounded us. I'm talking a thousand plus. I can take most of them down with ease, but the problem is you all. I don't know if you all will survive."

Everyone began to look at each other, a bit scared and confused.

"But, since I'm the party leader here, I'll do everything I can to assure everyone's survival. I'm not supposed to step in this much, but it's not like I can let a bunch of brats die on my watch either."

Ms Shinmon let out a sigh.

"We don't have much time, the enemy is closing in! Form a circle with the healer, mages, and supporters in the middle. Guardians stand in a triangular shape around them; and the rest of us will stand outside of them."

Everyone began marching to their formations. I walked over to Mari, she was limping to her spot.

"Here I'll help you."

Mari smiled a bit.

"Thanks dude."

After helping Mari to her spot with her brother, I stood on the outside of the circle like instructed. The wolves continued to get closer, and eventually they arrived.

"Ms Shinmon!"

"I know! All units maintain your positions!! If even one of them breaks through the formation, someone will probably die!! Give it everything you've got!"

A large group of wolves rushed towards me, with some following behind them. I powered up my mana and slashed the air, a slash of poison flying in front of me and hitting the wolves.

Even though they died more wolves just kept rushing at me, causing me to actually have to fight them. I infused my daggers with aura and added some poison to them as I held my ground and cut down any wolf that got close.

Ms Shinmon, Jax, and Lapis were cutting through the wolves with ease. Zeke and I seemed to be having a lot more trouble, but mainly Zeke because my poison was killing the wolves the moment I hit them.

While fighting against the wolves, some two horned wolves began running towards me as well. One bit me in the arm, causing me to wince in pain and stab it's eye with my other arm.

I felt a smaller one bite my leg, as another two horned one bite my shoulder. I let out a pained yell, the pain getting to me.

"Muji!!"

I heard Mya's voice yell out to me. A shining light rained down on me and I felt my the pain lessen a bit.

I threw the two horned wolf off of me and stabbed it before kicking the smaller one. I slashed my two blades, sending an x slashed poison attack the wolves rushing towards me.

"I've got you Muji!"

I felt a vine wrap around my waste, my wounds slowly healing. As I was being healed, more wolves rushed at me, causing me to groan.

"There's so many of them...this is making me upset."

I continued to fight them off, my wound still open but slowly healing. While I was combatting them, I sensed a much stronger foe trying to blend in.

But I couldn't pin point them exactly.

"Where...where?!"

As I cut down the wolves in front of me, I was beginning to lose focus. The more and more I cut down, the more and more it got closer.

"Where is it?!"

"Surprise."

I felt my heart drop as I felt something behind me.

"Muji watch out!!"

I felt something incredibly powerful hit me, causing me to spit up blood and fly away. I hit a tree, broke right through it, and continued to fly through more.

I finally came to a stop after hitting about 10 trees, my back feeling like it was broke. I slowly stood up, blood dripping from the wound in my stomach.

I coughed up blood, my arms feeling like they were about to fall off. My knees were buckling, I could barely stand.

"Oh? You're still alive?"

The werewolf appeared right in front of me, I could barely stand and it was literally right in front of me.

"I-I'm dead...I'm sorry Karin, Daiki, Kyle and Kaia....I'm so sorry."

A small tear drop rolled down my face.

"Your big brother won't make it home..."

I felt someone tackle me, successfully avoiding the werewolf's attack.

"Muji. Are you ok?"

I looked at up at my savior.

"N-No. What are you doing here?!"

I clenched my fist as I looked at her face, sweat drops falling down and openly displaying her fear and nervousness.

"Mya!!"
