Muji POV
"Alright kiddos into the carriages. We're going to be traveling for a few days so get comfortable."
Today was a very important day as we were heading out for the trainee tournament that was in a few days. Luckily for us, it was being held within this kingdom, so we didn't have to travel anywhere incredibly far.
The carriages held up to five people, and seeing as how people suddenly formed around me I already knew who I was riding with.
"Let's go Muji!"
Mya grabbed my wrist and began to pull me towards a carriage, Jax following behind us. Adjest and Iris followed Jax, and the five of us ended up in the carriage.
Before we left, Ms Shinmon stopped by our carriage and gave us our food for the next few days, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't the usual ration bars.
"Thank Sky when you see her. She spent hours making sandwiches for everyone." Ms Shinmon said before shutting the carriage.
Without much more delay the carriage began to move as we headed out. The ride would take a few days at the minimum, so now we had to figure out what to do.
"Hey, let's play a game!" Jax abruptly suggested.
Mya looked at him with a look of pity.
"You idiot, what type of game could we play in a moving carriage? We don't even have cards or anything interesting to play with."
I nodded in agreement, but Adjest cleared her throat and grabbed my attention.
"We could play things like the guessing game, or a questionnaire of sorts. It would just a be a pass time, I don't see the hurt in it."
Jax snickered. "Exactly!"
I hummed.
"Then let's play 20 questions."
Adjest, Jax, and Iris all looked at me confused. Mya let out a dragged out sigh.
"You guys have never had fun in your lives. I'll explain the rules."
After Mya explained the rules, we decided on playing in a way everyone could play. All four of the people trying to guess would talk it out before asking a question, and if they guess the answer correctly than the person who's turn is was gains a point. The first to three points would lose the game.
"Alright then, I'll go first." I volunteered as everyone suddenly got some type of competitive gleam in their eye.
Iris asked the first question and brought the game to an official start.
Iris: Is it a living thing? (Yes.)
Adjest: Is it a person? (No.)
Mya: Is it an animal? (No.)
Jax: Is it me? (No-
"Why would you ask that dumbass?!" Mya yelled as she punched Jax. Jax brought his hands up defensively to defend himself as Adjest and I held Mya back.
I forgot how much of a sore loser she was.
"Alright let's get back to the game."
Iris: Is it a plant? (Yes.)
Adjest: Is it a common plant? (Yes.)
Mya: Can it be found in most places? (Yes.)
Jax: Is it a tree? (No.)
Iris: Is it poisonous? (No.)
"Iris, girl, if it's found in most places I doubt it's poisonous."
"Oh you're right. Sorry."
In the end they couldn't find the answer, to which it was grass. Mya was pretty upset but quickly cheered up when it was her turn. From there we continued to play all sorts of games as the days flew by.
Timeskip
"Woah, where are we?"
"Surprised aren't you kiddos? I was too my first time here. Welcome, to Astrosus!"
I looked at the large colosseum like building. Strictly from the outside, it looked like a place where gladiators would come to battle it out in a fight to the death.
"So kiddos, you all go over there."
Ms Shinmon pointed as we all looked, seeing the large line of people standing there. I could see Mya and Jax become pale at the sight, but there was nothing we could do about it.
"I'll see you all after you've gotten your interview and evaluation out the way!"
Ms Shinmon scurried off, leaving us for dead basically. Without anything else to do we all headed into the line as well, patiently waiting our turn.
After waiting for an hour or two I now understood why we got here early. A lot has to happen in preparation for the trainee tournament to be held properly.
"Muji look! It's finally your turn!"
I nodded and walked up into the room at the direction of the two guards standing on each side of said room. Once I was inside the room I was met with a table, and at it sat some woman I had never seen before.
Her features were hidden with a mask and hood but I could tell she was a woman due to...obvious reasons.
"Have a seat."
I did as she said and sat down across the table from her, quietly sitting there.
"Name?"
"Muji Akuma."
"Age?"
"16. Mam."
She nodded and held her hand out.
"I'm going to ask you a few questions about yourself, grab my hand and answer truthfully."
I nodded and braced myself. She began to rapid shoot questions, some I had no idea the relevance of the situation, albeit I answered them all. After we were done she let go of my hand, and her hand began to glow.
An item formed in her hand, it looked like a medal. She handed it to me and I looked at it and seen a number, the number 339.
"Don't forget that number. You can go now."
I nodded and walked past her before ending up in a very large arena. I looked around, seeing all sorts of people. A lot of them were adults, but from what I could see of the children most of them were from other kingdoms.
"I was the first one from my group. I should just stay out of sight and wait for the-
"Hey!"
I looked to the source of the voice seeing a very tall woman headed my way. She had very short white hair, red eyes, and scars all over her. I recognized her from the time I went to the capital for Ms Shinmon.
Her name was Taylor Reynolds, and she was one of the Gifted Generation whilst also being princess of the Reynolds kingdom.
"You look strong! Let's fight! Right now!"
