Muji POV
"Shanna we've immobilized them, do it now!"
Shanna nodded as she casted her spell, causing an immense amount of gravity to destroy the wolves. Shanna stumbled back a bit, causing Iris to catch her.
We had been out here for three days already, and we had fought off countless wolf attacks. They were relentless in attacking us, but thankfully we had managed to stay on our toes thanks to Lapis and my incredible senses.
"Mateo, how many wolves have we faced so far?"
I knew Mateo had been counting, he was too much of an analysis to not be.
"We've encountered 326 one horns, 130 two horns, and 20 three horns. As of yet we haven't faced the humanoid monster Ms Shinmon spoke of."
I nodded.
"Good job."
Mari hummed.
"If we've beaten that many, aren't we doing super good?"
Lapis shook his head.
"The more we kill the more they send after us, meaning the number of enemies will be even bigger next time."
I nodded.
"They can also find us easily thanks to the amount of bloodshed spilt here. We need to move."
We began to move once more, walking a bit of distance away from the last battle. As we were walking we ran into another party of hunters.
But they were adults.
"I thought this forest was reserved for trainees."
The adults all looked at each other.
"Oh, we are trainees. You guys are from the child section right?"
He wasn't lying, but I could sense some malice through his words. Lapis also seemed to tell, seeing as how he decided to actually open his eyes.
"Yes we are, we're here on a practice run. If you'll excuse us, we have to keep moving."
"Wait, why don't you stick around? As fellow trainees, we should help each other."
He had other intentions.
He was talking to me but his eyes were trailing to my female party members.
Disgusting.
"No thank you, let's go everyone."
As we began to walk, I noticed them following us. I turned to Lapis and he just yawned a bit before fading away.
"Huh? Where'd Lapis go?"
We all heard some screams and clashing noises before a head rolled onto the ground in front of us. Shanna and Mari both gagged and stepped back a bit as Mateo and Iris had a visible face of disgust.
"Lapis, was that really necessary?"
Lapis walked towards us from ahead of us, blood and a tired look on his face.
"He was trying to run...but you really are different, Huh Muji? You didn't even flinch."
I waved him off.
"Fall back in line."
Lapis just did as he was told and we continued to move. As we walked through the endless forest, I began to sense something, it was coming our way incredibly fast.
"Everyone take your positions!! The enemy is coming!!"
Lapis quickly dashed forward, swinging his blade and clashing with the monster. It was the humanoid wolf Ms Shinmon had told us about.
