Hello friends!!

I've been wanting to draw this sibling trio together for a while, and after scouring both Google and Pinterest I FINALLY found a pose for them that worked!! I imagine this as kind of a family portrait sort of thing, because the writer in me just loves to put stories to my drawings (or I guess it's just the nerd in me, but minor detail XD). I just felt like this would be the perfect way to introduce them to my art book! :D

Granted that this is a trio drawing, it did take some more time than when I just draw one person—that's pretty much a given. Strap in my lovelies, it's time for me to detail the process :D

Kotori was probably the easiest for me since I went through a phase where I drew her over and over again (let me know if I should publish any of those-)—I had a lot of fun with her hair and face in particular! It also kinda helps that she tends to have the same facial expression, but that's a minor detail- XD

Her clothes were kind of a mixed experience—the uniform itself was easy, but her cloak and boots both took a good amount of trials before I was happy with them. I think it was worth it though :D

For Yuna, I'd say it was overall a mixed experience as well. I was actually able to get her clothes done pretty quickly, and I really only had to touch up a little bit on the fur part of her haori! No I didn't forget the designs, they're just hidden by the skirt lolz- it was the same with the face too—I just had to adjust her right eye and the mouth position she are was pretty much good to go :D

Her hair also wasn't too bad either—I did have to take some extra time with the braids but that's just the nature of drawing thin braids and I've accepted it at this point. I think it's worth it, especially with the ribbon bows :3.

And finally, last but certainly not least, we have Daiki—aka, my biggest challenge. Wow, what a shocker, Melody struggles to draw a dude- XD

Now the hair and face were by far the easiest parts—I was actually able to get the hair right on the first try, which is surprisingly more than what I can say for Yuna and Kotori—and while I did adjust the face it was moreso out of preference than it coming out weird. Heck I didn't even struggle with the body/pose. No, my friends, there was just one thing that always makes Daiki a challenge for me: his haori XD

I don't know somewhere I got it in my head that a butterfly haori should be bright and flamboyant and have a unique sleeve cut, but as much as I love the design and think it suits him, I question my life every time I have to draw it- however the good news is once I get past that initial hurdle it's usually smooth sailing from there! Yay optimism!

Anyways, colossal rambling aside, it's time for the taisho secret!

The three of them all keep a garden together that they tend to while they're not on missions—Daiki tends to plant fruits/vegetables to use in his recipes, while Yuna and Kotori mostly plant flowers. It's progressively growing more elaborate~ (I also hear that Kotori tends to make her contributions in secret when her siblings are busy)

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this (slightly longer) chapter!

See ya!
