Hello my lovelies!!
I'm once again having a realization moment that I've drawn a character a bunch but have yet to introduce them to my art book, so here's the official art book introduction of the purest plum blossom, Ayaka Hiiragi!
So first of all you wouldn't believe how much of an endeavor it is to find good staff-fighting pose references on the internet, but like many other times before this, I stumbled across a good one while searching for something completely different, and simply had to seize the opportunity :D
Now I'll be honest I didn't have a particular breathing form in mind—actually I'll be extra honest and say that it was kind of a last minute addition. However I will say that I think it adds a little something extra to it so I'm happy I made this decision! Even if it was a challenge to say the least to get it to look right—I kept experimenting with the different flower brushes until I ended up coming up with the final look
The head and hair was also a bit of a challenge as well, and took quite a few attempts to get them to make sense and look the way I wanted; thankfully, I was able to get a final result that I was happy with :D
On the flip side, I actually had a lot of fun with her clothes!! Call it the extensive practice I get drawing demon slayer uniforms but I was actually able to get it on the first try which was definitely a pleasant surprise. The skirt and socks in particular were fun for me but I liked doing all of it :3
Anyways, it's time to wrap up with a taisho secret!
While she's strongest in fighting with her full staff, since becoming Reika's tsuguko, she has started to get better at the dual-wielding aspect of her weapon :D
