Hello friends! I figured today would be as good a day as any to draw these two—while I'm not sure if everyone celebrates Easter I've just wanted to draw these two and thought this would be perfect timing—something about their color palettes and spring-related themes :D
And yes I did use my age old technique of drawing them separately and then splicing them together—this only works if we're honest XD
I started out drawing Haruka first for the sole fact that her hair is easier for me, though I did take a couple of tries to get her yukata sleeves right (by which I mean getting them to make sense with her arms lol). I had a lot of fun with her hair/butterfly clip in particular, as well as her facial expression :D
As for Hitomi, I kinda had the opposite experience—her clothing was a relatively smooth process save for a couple redos, but oh my goodness, her hair was an endeavor. Seriously I don't know why I keep doing this to myself—at least in the end I was able to get a final product I was happy with because I was close to rage quitting XD
Anyways, it's time for the segment we all know and love: the taisho secret!
When they're off duty, the two of them will sometimes have Sakura mochi and tea with honey, and they have a mini picnic under cherry blossom trees. It used to be something Haruka enjoyed doing alone, but she's come to enjoy having her sister's company :)
