I was in my bed, feeling warm and cozy as one should be in their bed. I was hoping to have a nice sleep, but what I got was the exact opposite of what I asked for. Instead of having any happy dreams, all I got was a nightmare. However, it wasn't just any nightmare; it felt like I'd lived through this before...with John.

SECONDS LATER...

                                                                        MARIE

My eyes popped open as I gasped. I quickly sat up in my bed, and I started breathing heavily. I sat there wondering what I had just dreamt about. Unlike the visions of the school collapsing, this event had already happened, and there was nothing I could do to change it. And even though I was still shaken up, I figured that John was still okay.

I exhaled in relief, knowing that everyone from the school was safe and that something like that would never happen.

"Bad dream?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I looked up and saw Light there. "Yeah," I answered. "Something like that."

"What about?" Light asked. I made a look on my face that matched Alex Browning's expression when the FBI agents interrogated him.

I stayed silent for a few seconds, thinking I should probably make something up. Then again, I knew how Light got when he was angry, and lying to my Shinigami was one way to make him angry.

 "John," I admitted.

 "Huh," Light let out.

"What does it mean?" I asked him.

Light shrugged. "I don't know," he answered. "You almost drowned recently, so your mind might easily pick up certain memories like that."

"I know," I reminded Light. "It's just that..." I watched as Light placed his hands on his hips. "

Just what?" he asked.

I thought about what kind of answer I should give Light, but I decided to drop it. I sighed. "Never mind," I told Light.  "I'm not in the mood for going back to sleep. Neither to see John's pretty face."

I uncovered myself and got out of bed. "I'm going to go make myself some early breakfast," I continued.

Light stepped out of the way as I made my way to the door. I turned on a Jack O Lantern decoration I packed with me as a way to help me see through the dark. The hallways were dark, but thankfully, I wasn't scared of the dark. Especially not with a Jack O Lantern. I quietly made my way to Christy's room and slightly opened the door to find Christy sleeping in her bed. I watched as Khloe slept in her bed next to Christy's too. However, she didn't stay asleep for long. Once she realized that I was there, she opened her eyes, sat up in her bed, and looked at me.

I gently shushed Khloe. "I'm going to go make myself some early breakfast," I whispered. "Be a good girl and stay quiet for Christy."

Khloe made a near-quiet whimper as she laid her head down.

"Get some more sleep," I whispered. "I'll be back in bed pretty soon."

I quietly closed the door so that Christy and Khloe could get some sleep.
