MARIE
"Alright, Marie!" I heard my dad call out. "I hope you have everything packed so that you don't forget something when I drop you off at the airport to meet Christy Grim!" I went outside with my bags with Alex walking right behind me. My dad scanned me up and down; head to toe. "You're wearing that to the airport?" he asked in a surprised tone. I looked at him and nodded. "Yes," I answered. "Well, you know my opinion about the Gothic look on you isn't great, Marie." my Dad reminded me. "Your mother and I aren't very fond of it." I nodded. "I'm aware," I said quietly as I put my bags and suitcases in the back of the van. "And remember what your mother said about taking Alex with you." I nodded. "Yes, I heard," I told my dad as I continued to stuff the bags in the back of the car.
Later on, after I stuffed everything in the car, I decided to strike up a conversation with my dad since I knew this would be the last time I'd see him for a while. "So, Dad." I began. "Do you have any weird feelings about the Kira business?"My dad sighed with an annoyed tone. "Seriously, this again?" he asked. "Everywhere on TV and the Internet, it's always, "Kira, Kira, Kira. Kira, this and Kira, that." Why can't people just talk about something different for once? You have almost everyone except for Matsuda, the other Japanese police crew along with Near and his gang dead." He paused. "Seriously, people obsess about that and Japan is the Number #1 place where most people are obsessed with Kira. I don't know why you would ask me stuff about Kira now. Ever since Light Yagami turned on the police force, you've been scared half to death that he was going to end you and other people around."
He glanced at me. "What's bringing all this up?" he asked. I shook my head. "Nothing," I answered while stroking Alex. "Just heard rumors about Misa Amane and that she may still be alive." My dad chuckled. "Yeah, like that would ever be true." I was confused by that. People on the news were saying stuff about Misa Amane, but then again, they were addressed as rumors by the people on the news. My dad sighed. "Look, I know a lot of stuff has been hard on you, since everything that happened with Kira and the fact that John broke up with you suddenly, but you need to move on. Both: from the Kira business and John." He paused for a few seconds. "I know that you're still hurting from John's decision to break up with you, but you need to move past it. You'll be better off if you end up pushing the Kira business and John's breakup with you aside. And besides, you're moving in with a pop star who was the opening act for Christina Aguilera, My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, and other bands as well. You have to be excited about that." For a moment, I felt a little better. "Yes, you're right about that." I eventually agreed with him.
Almost thirty minutes later, we arrived at the airport. I was excited about meeting Christy Grim and even forgot about Kira and John's decision to break up with me momentarily. I was so excited as I looked around the inside of the airport. My dad tapped me on my shoulder to get my attention. "Look, Marie!" he said in a loud whisper. "There she is! It's Christy Grim!" I couldn't believe it was her! She had long black hair, brown eyes, and white skin. She was dressed in a black shirt with the triforce from The Legend of Zelda video game series and with blue ripped jeans. Her eyes caught my brown eyes as a big smile appeared. I felt so happy when she waved at me. "Hey!" she said. She sped walked to me and gave me a big hug. I hugged her back as she started talking to me. "Hello, Marie! You must be so excited for us to move in together in Tokyo, Japan!" she said. Christy stopped hugging me. "I'm super excited for us to get to know each other more and become best-roomie-friends-ever!" I nodded. "And I'm so excited for us to get to know each other better too." I agreed. "You're like, one of my favorite pop stars ever." "Aw," she said. "Thank you."
