JANUARY 14, 2006 (JPD)

AROUND 4:15 PM

RIGHT ABOVE TOKYO, JAPAN

                                                                      MARIE

We were still looking down on Tokyo from the airplane. It looked so big and beautiful! Christy and I couldn't wait for us to land at Haneda Airport. "Won't you just look at that?" a guy asked behind us. "Can't believe it took a crazy Latina Siouxsie Sioux Misa Misa hybrid to go ruin our flight, some dogs to attack us, and now we're finally here in Tokyo." We looked behind us when he said: "Ruined". It was the same guy from earlier! I made an annoyed face once I looked at him. "Just ignore him, Marie," Christy tried to comfort me. "He's just a big bully." Just then, we heard the chorus of "Sugar We're Goin Down" by Fall Out Boy. Everybody looked at the guy and his gang and then laughed. The flight attendant crossed her arms and made a face like she was about to say, "Really?" "You need to change that ringtone!" she complained. The flight attendant went to the first class unlike the times she took our orders. "Alright, everyone," the pilot began. "We're just seconds away before landing at the Haneda Airport so please still sit back, relax, and take in the nice scenery of Japan as we land."

I looked back at Christy. "I can't believe we're finally here!" I cheered. "I know!" Christy cheered. "We just gotta land!" Within a minute or two, we finally landed at Haneda Airport. "Wooooooooo!!!!!!!" we cheered as we were landing. Our excitement increased as we landed. When the flight attendant who took our orders opened the door, everyone got up, retrieved their bags, and the other flight attendants let the dogs out. The dogs walked in an organized line to their owner. Christy and I retreated our bags when they let the dogs out. "So, who do you think this Steve person is like?" I asked. "I met him before," Christy said as she picked up her bags. "He's very nice and charming." She walked out of our row and followed the passengers along with the dogs off the plane.  Meanwhile, I placed my iPod, my earbuds, and Bram Stoker's Dracula book in my bag. Then, I followed the dogs and the other passengers off the airplane.

When I got off, I was in awe. The airport was big and was everything I thought it was. So vast and beautiful! I couldn't wait for Alex to see this! "Marie!" I heard a voice softly call my name. I looked to my right and saw Christy ushering me with her hand to come closer. I walked over to her and looked around. "Have you found Steve yet?" I asked. "No," Christy answered. "Not yet. I just wanted to show you this." She pointed to the doors as we looked up at the clear ceiling. We saw the day shift into the evening as clouds passed by in the sky and planes from the other airports came in. "It's so cool," I said in awe. Just then, we heard the sound of a dog barking. We looked down and saw Khloe running straight to Christy. "Khloe!" Christy cried with her arms out for her dog. She hugged her dog and laughed. "Aw, puppy. I missed you so much."Christy looked at Khloe. "Tell me!" she said teasingly. "Did you miss me? Did you miss me?" Khloe panted. "Oh, you're such a good girl." I heard a cat meow while she was talking to Khloe. I looked down and saw Alex purring as he walked between my legs. "Aw, Alex," I said before I bent down and picked him up. Alex purred even more. "I missed you so much, kitty. Did you miss me? Because I missed you." I looked into Alex's red eyes. "Now that we're together, you can protect me from Kira all you want now," I said teasingly. "Doesn't that sound great?" "Marie," I heard Christy say. Alex and I looked at her. "Let's go," she said. I placed Alex on the ground gently and grabbed my suitcases. We followed Christy and Khloe out of the airport because we probably knew we'd meet this Steve person.

Outside, we saw a man with long brown hair that had curls in it and wore a black beanie on his head. He had facial hair that matched the color of his hair and was wearing a black shirt with Link in a blue outfit. He turned to look at us and a smile formed on his face. "Ah, Christy," he said. The man walked up to us. "It's so nice to see you again," he told her. "You too, Steve," she replied. Steve looked at me. "You must be Marie," he said. "We've heard so much about you." Steve looked at my outfit. "Nice outfit." he complimented. "I've never been a fan of Gothic rock, but I must say it's quite an interesting subculture." "Thank you," I told Steve. "So, are you from here?" "Oh, no, no," Steve chuckled. "I'm actually from LA. I moved her because my music-producing career didn't take off right away." "Oh," I chuckled back. "I moved here with Christy so I could take some time away from my ex-boyfriend. We broke up not so long ago and all I want is to get over it." Steve frowned. "Oh, I'm very sorry to hear that," he consoled me. "Anyway, let's get on the bus. I've already picked out the place where you girls will be living." "Okay, Steve!" Christy exclaimed. "Let's go!" Steve called out as he turned and led us to his bus.
