JANUARY 30, 2006

TOKYO, JAPAN

AROUND 6:50 AM

                                                                           MARIE

Once we were finally done eating breakfast, we all went back to the bus. Once we got to the bus, we saw Ms. Seraphim eating her kolache. I knocked on the door and got her attention. Her eyes widened once she saw me. I'm very sure that she wasn't expecting to see us out at the moment. Nevertheless, I watched as she pressed a button. I stepped back once I saw the doors open. "Welcome aboard," Ms. Seraphim greeted us. I boarded the bus with Vincent after she said that. "I hope everyone had a nice breakfast," Ms. Seraphim continued. "We did," I assured her as I watched Alissa, Osuke, Hailey, Daemon, Kyrie, Daeshim, Mei, Jirou, Melody, Yuto, Sam, Sky,  and a couple of other students that I haven't seen before. "Alright," I heard Ms. Seraphim say. "Is that everyone?"

Ms. Seraphim picked up a pen and started counting heads. She then picked up a piece of paper and started looking at it. "Wait," she said out loud as she placed down the paper. "Where is Victor and Lilac?" I slightly tilted my head. Lilac? Who's Lilac? Is that the girl that we saw Victor with? I thought to myself. Just then, we heard someone banging on the bus door. We turned and saw Victor with the girl that he was with banging on the door. "Hey!" he and the girl that was with him (who I assumed was Lilac) called out. "Let us in!" Victor continued. "It's cold out here!" Ms. Seraphim then pressed a button. I watched as Victor and Lilac step back as the doors opened. Once the doors were opened, Victor and Lilac got on the bus. "It was freezing out there," Victor complained. "Well, we are in Japan, not Texas," Ms. Seraphim informed him. "In Texas, you don't know what the weather would be like. Some days it's cold, some days it's warm."

I watched as Victor and Lilac went to their seat so that they could sit down on the bus. "Okay," Ms. Seraphim let out. "That's everyone." I watched as she pressed a button and closed the bus doors. "Now then, let's get going..." she tried to continue, but then her phone rang. "Oh!" she let out as she heard her phone ringing. I watched as she got out her phone from her pocket and flipped it open. "Hello," Ms. Seraphim said as she brought it up to her. "Oh, hey, Minako. How's Kaito doing?" We all gasped once we heard her say our favorite eh...at least, my favorite teacher's first name. Everyone whispered and murmured to each other. "Oh, sorry," Ms. Seraphim told Ms. Hirota on the phone. "The students really love you and Kaito. They really miss you both."

Ms. Seraphim placed the phone away from her ear and pressed a button on her phone. "Oh," we heard Ms. Hirota's voice on the phone. "Tell them that Kaito and I miss our students too." We all clapped and cheered once we heard that. "What in the world?" we heard Ms. Hirota's voice on the phone. "Do you have your phone on speaker?" Ms. Seraphim nodded. "Yes and they really wish that Kaito could be here taking them on the trip to Jigokundai Monkey Park," she answered Ms. Hirota's question. "Anyway," we heard Ms. Hirota's voice on the phone. "Kaito still hasn't been acting like his usual self. He hasn't been eating that much, talking that much, and he won't come out of his room unless he's making himself something to eat."

We all murmured and whispered to each other once we heard that. I looked at Vincent. "Do you think Mr. Mikami's okay?" I whispered to him. "I don't know," Vincent whispered to me. "Ms. Seraphim and Ms. Hirota have said that he still isn't doing very well." We looked back up and watched as Ms. Seraphim continued her conversation with Ms. Hirota on the phone when we heard her sigh. "Anyway," Ms. Hirota began on the phone. "Cindy and Lily have been constantly going out of the house. I've been doing all the cleaning and all the housework. Kaito only cooks for himself and he doesn't talk much these days." "So," Ms. Seraphim began. "Do you think you can help him?" "Well," Ms. Hirota answered. "I tried, but something crazy just happened after I tried doing so." "What happened?" Ms. Seraphim asked.
