EARLY EVENING

TOKYO, JAPAN

                                                                               LIGHT

I waited for the sun to set so that I could go investigate what could have happened at Niko's onsen house. I paced back and forth as I ate my Big Mac. (At least I was able to steal a Big Mac from this guy who was bullying this nerd kid.) I  watched as the sun began to set more and more as time passed. It should be getting dark soon. I thought to myself. I continued to walk back and forth as I finished my Big Mac. "Mmm," I let out as I licked the Big Mac sauce from my fingers. "So good. Really wish I would have got a taste of that big bully's blood though. A Big Mac with human blood sounds so delicious."

I walked straight to the onsen house after that.

MINUTES LATER...

                                                                       LIGHT

I was mere inches away from the onsen house and the sun was set more than halfway. I was happy that Niko wasn't there. Then again, I was happy that Niko wasn't there because of what happened to Mei and Jirou. I knew that Mei and Jirou died sometime around three forty in the morning, but I wanted to see what could have happened. I was really curious about if the onsen would boil once again or if nothing was going to happen. Either way, I had to give Marie answers and see what really went down with two of her classmates died. I opened the door to the onsen house and closed it right behind me. I took off my shoes and placed it into a shoe locker. Even though it was getting dark, I decided not to turn the lights on. I was really scared that someone would have seen me and might call the police.

Instead, I got out some glowsticks that Ryuk had given me after we finally swam our way out of the crypt the night before Mei and Jirou died. I had this uneasy feeling as I walked through the dark onsen house. At first, I brushed it off and figured that I probably had it because two teenagers had died two nights ago. As time went on, the uneasiness increased.

I sang softly to myself:

"He was born in the summer of his twenty-seventh year

Coming home to a place he'd never been before

He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again

You might say he found the key for every door."

I went straight to the men's changing room so that I could get a towel. I settled for a red one since red still is my favorite color. Strangely, when I got into the men's changing room, the uneasiness died down. It was probably because Mei and Jirou died in the women's bath. I really don't know why Mei and Jirou decided to do that in an onsen. (That was pretty gross.) I sighed and shook my head. "I don't need to know," I said to myself. Once I got my towel, I headed to the women's changing room where the uneasiness grew a little bit. I knew very well that the existence of the paranormal was not a joke. I began to wonder if Mei and Jirou's spirits were here telling anyone to go back or if they would suffer the same fate as they did.

I hummed the rest of the first verse of "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver as I took off my shirt.

ABOUT A MINUTE LATER...

                                                                     LIGHT

After placing my towel around my waist, I slowly made my way to the onsen house where the uneasiness began to come back. My hand was shaking as I lifted it and was about to open the door to the women's bath. I started to breathe heavily and had second thoughts about this. I was scared to the bone, but that's when I realized something. I stopped heavily breathing and exhaled. "It's okay, Light," I told myself quietly. "You're already dead. You've been dead for over a year now. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. You've got this." After I told myself that, I opened the door to the women's bath with one swift motion and stepped inside the room. There was nothing wrong about the bath itself. The bath was already full and it didn't look nasty at all. It looked very beautiful to look at and it smelled nice.
