                                                                        MARIE

I picked up some of the groceries that I bought from the grocery store with Light's help. He helped hand me the bags so that I could take them in. Even though I pretty much knew what Light was going to make me for dinner, I was still happy that he was doing something pretty nice for me. It's been a long hard day for me now that everyone is aware that a new Kira is among everyone and since a masked man chased me down in a grocery store. I was pretty sure that the person in the mask was probably a prankster and that this could all just be a big coincidence. However, something didn't sit right with me. If this was a prankster, then why would they have come to my house and thought that they'd seen Light? First of all, I never touched anyone with the Death Note besides Vincent and Kyrie...so this all could have been a joke. A really bad joke mixed in with a coincidence.

"Marie," I heard Light say. I turned around and saw Light standing in front of the doorway. "Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded. "Yeah," I answered. "Just a little shaken up after what happened today." "Hey, hey, hey," Light said quietly. "I understand. I've been there too." I slightly tilted my head. "You've had to kill people who could have slaughtered innocent children and followed by a man in a mask too?" I asked. "No, no," Light answered. "I killed a man who was on an inmate on death row that L used to get me. Then, I had to kill an FBI Agent and his future wife." I glared at Light after he said that and crossed my arms. Light scoffed and placed his arms up. "Come on," he complained. "Do I have to explain it again?" I rolled my eyes and sighed. "I've heard you about a million times," I answered with a bit of annoyance. "Stop sassing me, you little witch," Light told me. "To be fair, you can annoy me too sometimes."

To be fair, Light and I were even with each other. We annoyed each other sometimes. I mean, for instance, he really got me upset when he was caught bathing in an onsen with a bunch of naked women. To make matters worse, Light wasn't even wearing a bathing suit or a towel in the onsen. (He was also completely naked) I was so happy that I wasn't Misa Amane because if I were her and if I had seen Light bathing in an onsen with other women, I'd basically go crazy like that one girl from Rat Race. (However, if Ryuzaki said something like that to Light, then yeah, I'm sure you'd get the message. For instance, I hoped that Misa Amane would act like that if Light did that. Maybe she'll act like that once she finds out that he's been cheating on her with Kiyomi Takada.)

Ugh! Sometimes this just really got on my nerves. I mean, Light's asking me to bring him back to Misa even after he cheated on her, but he claims that he never realized how much he loved her up until his dying moments. I honestly didn't want to believe that, but if what he says is true, then I guess I should believe him whether I like it or not. "My apologies," I told Light. "You're forgiven," Light replied. "Now help me put the groceries away." I did as Light said and helped him put the groceries away. I was able to put the shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and everything that needed to go in the refrigerator in the refrigerator (even though I'm sure that Light wanted me to leave the vegetables out.)

"Marie," I heard Light say softly. I turned around and looked at him to find the red velvet cake from the bakery in his hands. "Why did you buy a pack of red velvet cake mix and an already-made red velvet cake?" he asked. I shrugged. "Just thought that you might want one that's already made," I answered. Light frowned. "But it tastes so dry without human blood," he pouted. I sighed. "Oh, alright," I said. I took out a knife from the knife holder. "Pass me the red velvet cake," I commanded Light. He made a confused look on his face. "You going to do that now?" he asked. I nodded. "If that's what you want, then I'll do that," I answered. Light slightly turned and looked upstairs. "What?" I asked. "What is it, Light?" I heard Light sigh before he turned back to where he faced me. "You know what?" he asked. "Forget it. It doesn't taste too bad without human blood." "You're just doing this because of Ryuzaki, right?" I asked. Light nodded his head. "You know how grossed out he was when you dumped your own blood into the red velvet cake mix."
