AROUND 9:20 AM

TOKYO, JAPAN

                                                                               MARIE

I stood by the window with Vincent and Kyrie as we listened to what was going on. "Do you hear anything else, Marie?" Kyrie asked. "I don't hear a thing that's happening anymore. "Maybe they're whispering," Vincent replied. I looked around and listened closely to what could be happening. I couldn't see what was going on nor could I hear what was going on in the living room. "I don't know what's going on," I told them. "Everything's so quiet." That's when the couch was removed from the window and we saw Ryuk with Midora in the living room. We all watched as Ryuk headed to the door and opened it. "Alright, you three," he told us. "It's perfectly safe to come in now." Without any hesitation, Vincent, Kyrie, and I walked back into the house. We all looked around at how arranged everything was considering that Ryuk and Midora went crazy when they found out that Light was my Shinigami.

"Ryuk," I let out. "Hmm?" he asked as I heard the door close from behind us. I turned around and faced him. "Where's Light?" I asked. "In the bathroom," Ryuk answered. "He had some really gross stuff on him so he had to go wash it off." "Oh," I let out. "I guess that makes sense."  I was a bit confused about why Ryuk and Midora were so angry at Light, but since he did a lot of stuff when he was alive during his reign as Kira. "So..is he taking a shower...?" we heard Vincent ask. I turned and looked at Vincent as he asked Ryuk that. "In my house?!" We all looked at Ryuk and watched him shrug.  "Eh," Ryuk let out as an answer. "Why not? He really does need one." "Ryuk," I said as I placed my hands on my hips. "Light's not stinky." "Well, what he had on him was pretty gross," Ryuk told me. "Trust me. You don't want what he had to wash off on you." "Okay," I let out after Ryuk told me that.

I made my way to the couch and sat down on it. I sat there in silence for a little bit and thought about all that was happening in my life. Over a week ago, I obtained the Death Note, met Light Yagami, was accused of being Kira, been accused of being a witch which I am both, had two visions of my school collapsing, and met Detective L whom I had a crush on when I was young. I even got to kiss L in real life, but it didn't mean anything since I wasn't in love with him and he wasn't in love with me. We just kissed because Light wanted us to. Every time I kissed John, it was just to show him how much I loved him, and now that we're not together anymore, it was perfectly fine that I kissed a phantom named L a.k.a Ryuzaki. I wasn't so sure if falling in love with him was the best idea. He was twenty-two when he died and I'm like one year away from turning eighteen so I didn't think it was a great idea for us to fall in love with each other. If we did, then there would be no turning back.

"Is something wrong, Marie?" I heard a guy ask. I looked up and saw Vincent there. "You look worried. You're not still worried about Light, are you?" I shook my head. "No, not really," I answered. "Just a bit taken aback since it's been over a week since I found Light's Death Note and met him." I watched as Vincent sat down beside me and place his arm around me. "It takes a lot to get used to," he told me. "I know it took me a while for me to get used to having Ryuk here. Plus, I know Red can see him, but Shelke, my parents, and everyone else can't see him. I know that when my baby sister is born, she'll be able to see Ryuk." "I'm a little nervous about that, Vincent," we heard Ryuk say as we both looked up at him. "But I'm excited for her to be born." I looked back at Vincent. "Believe me," he began. "Red was barking his tail off when he first saw Ryuk. Plus, my grandparents that are still living in Waco can see Ryuk because I accidentally touched them with a piece of the notebook back when we were visiting them in Waco."

"Ugh!" we heard Ryuk say as we turned and looked back at him. "Tell me about it! Every time I come to Waco and end up in their house, it always ends up like that one scene from Monsters Inc. Vincent's grandma sure can hit you with that shovel pretty good." "Wait," I said quietly as I looked back at Vincent. "Your grandparents live in Waco?" "Yes," Vincent answered while nodding. "I actually lived with them for quite a while and went to La Vega with Sam and Sky." La Vega?! And he also lived in Waco for a while too?! I wonder if that girl I saw in that photo is still in Waco too. I probably shouldn't ask now. Maybe if Vincent and I were to ever talk privately, then maybe I can ask him about that girl. I thought to myself. I felt something woosh against me as I felt someone sit down on the couch right beside me. I turned and saw Kyrie sitting by me with a smile on her face.
