I was doing some research on the computer about my mother and Sayu. Turns out that I found something I didn't expect to see on the computer. I clicked on the link and found out that my mother had written a book that was published in October of last year. It was called My Son is NOT Kira. "Guess you and Dad have a lot of things in common, Mom," I muttered. I then looked at something else and saw something that surprised me. "Sachiko Yagami and her daughter, Sayu Yagami are coming to Waco, TX all the way from Seattle, Washington in a couple of days." I think began to think about something. Since Marie's parents lived in Waco, maybe my mother and Sayu would actually get a chance to meet them. As I was thinking about this, I heard the door open and Marie walked into the room.

"What are you looking at?" Marie asked. I turned around in the chair and looked at her. "Oh," I let out as I tried to think of an answer. "Um...I can't believe my mother actually wrote a book." Marie looked interested after I told her that. "Oh really? She did?" Marie asked. "What did she write?" "It's called My Son is NOT Kira," I answered.  Marie looked at me with a puzzled look after I said that. "Y-your mother and sister really believe that, don't they?" Marie asked me. I made a confused look on my face. "What are you talking about, Anna?" I asked. "Marie!" Marie corrected me. "It's Marie!" There was a five-second pause of talking between us. Marie sighed as she broke the brief moment of silence. "When I visited the asylum and met Misa, she said that you and L were killed by Teru Mikami, who then killed himself." Marie fell silent for a little bit. "Is that what your mother and sister believe?"

I stayed silent for a little bit, but eventually, I had to tell her the truth. "They do," I answered. We didn't say a word after that. Instead, we had a long moment of silence and we didn't even bother to speak. Even when Alex came out of the closet meowing. We just looked at him and gave each other the silent treatment. "Anyway," Marie said as she picked up her backpack. "I gotta go to school." I watched as Marie was about to leave the room and I knew that I had to tell her something. "Wait," I let out. Marie stopped and turned around. "I forgot to tell you this," I began. "But my mother and Sayu are going to be visiting Waco in a couple of days. If your parents are lucky, they'll get to meet them." Marie seemed to be a little intimidated by that. "Really?" Marie asked. I nodded. "You know, they could have moved to Waco instead of Seattle." "Eh," I let out. "Mom has family up in Seattle so that's why she and Sayu moved there. My dad would always call his mother-in-law and family-in-law "her family members from Seattle". Obviously, he loved his wife's family, but he didn't like Seattle as much."

Marie chuckled. "Well, I'm pretty sure Seattle isn't that bad," she told me. "Not really," I agreed as I shrugged. "It's okay. I've never been there. Sayu has never been there when I was alive." "Mmm," Marie said as she nodded her head. "And also, a fun fact about this house is that this used to be my house until I moved out." Marie looked around for a few seconds before she looked back at me. "Wow," she said. "That's insane." "Is that a good insane or bad insane?" I asked. Marie hesitated for a little bit. "Both," she answered. "Both, good and bad. You know, I'm glad that I have a new house and I live with Christy Grim, but bad that you became a serial killer." I crossed my arms and glared at her. "Do we really need to go over this again, Marie?" I asked. "I wasn't affiliated with magic or whatever. I was just a normal teenager with a Death Note and a Shinigami."

Marie got even more curious. "What was his or her name?" I asked. "What was he or she like?" "It's a he," I answered. "And his name is Ryuk. He loved apples and his appearance was a bit frightening but very intimidating..., but you, Anna Marie Monroe, have a Shinigami who's intimidating, but yet very handsome." Marie sarcastically chuckled. "Handsome, but definitely not on my want-to-date list."  I made a grossed-out look on my face. "Ew! No!" I told Marie. "Never!" Marie chuckled after I said that. "But I guess that's what I like about you," she said. "I guess that's another thing I like about you, too," I replied. We smiled at each other for a few seconds until I looked at my watch. "Marie," I said. "Yes?" she asked. "Doesn't the bus usually come around this time?" Marie stopped smiling and looked at her watch.
