It took me a while, but I was eventually brought home. "Thank you, Ms. Seraphim," I told her. "You're welcome," Ms. Seraphim replied. "Have a nice spring break." "You too," I replied before I got off the bus. Once I got off the bus, I saw Light and Ryuzaki planting something outside my backyard. I approached them as I heard the bus driving away. I knew that having Light outside was bad enough, but having Ryuzaki outside wasn't so bad. He was a phantom so if someone believed in ghosts, they would be able to see him. However, I hoped that Near didn't believe in ghosts because he would be able to see Ryuzaki. It would be bad. I didn't want him to know that I was living with his mentor. That would be awkward. At least Near and I didn't have any romantic feelings for each other. If we did, then that would be even worse. I walked closer to the two, but not without Khloe running up to me. I smiled. "Hi," I greeted her.
Once Khloe calmed down, I walked up to the front porch where Ryuzaki and Light kept gardening. "Yo," Light greeted me. I was confused by what he said. "Yo?" I asked. "G-Money?" Light chuckled and shook his head. "No, that's not what I'm saying," he answered. "It's too formal to say Konnichiwa to friends in Japan so I just said yo. I could also say yahho, but that's often used by women, so it would sound weird if a guy were to say it." I chuckled. "I've heard guys use it in school before it collapsed so it wouldn't be awkward," I told Light. I looked at what Ryuzaki and Light were planting. "I didn't realize that you were into gardening, Ryuzaki," I said to him. I watched as Ryuzaki looked up at me. "There are many things you don't know about me," he reminded me. I sighed after Ryuzaki told me that. "I'm happy to have my first two-week spring break," I commented. "This is going to be so fun. We should take a trip together just the three of us plus Alex and Khloe."
"Sounds fun," Ryuzaki let out. "Out of all my years of my life, I've been around the world many times. I've been to Germany and Africa before when I was out solving cases." "Have you been to Paris?" I asked. Ryuzaki shook his head. "No," he answered. "I haven't. I would have loved to, but that's when the Kira investigation started. One of the worst things that ever happened to me. I lost my dad, my friends neglected me, and now one of them is dead, but not gone." "I may be dead, but I don't plan on dying again anytime soon," Light said out loud. I was confused after Light said that. "Wait, you can't die again right?" I asked. "I know that something happened to Rem, but I..." "Let's not talk about Rem or what happened to her," Light told me. I sighed after he told me that. "Ryuk seems pretty sad about what happened to her," I blurted out. "Marie!" Light growled. I placed my hands up as if Light was holding a gun. "Sorry," I let out. "We can discuss what happened to Rem later." Light growled again. "Rem?" Ryuzaki asked. "The Shinigami, right? What happened to her?" "She returned to the Shinigami Realm because Earth was too much for her," Light lied. Ryuzaki nodded after he fell for that lie.
I couldn't believe that Ryuzaki fell for that. Something happened to Rem. I mean, Rem...poor Shinigami. She had turned into dust like that other little Shinigami. Unfortunately, that didn't explain what happened to her or how they turned to dust. I thought that Gods and Goddesses of Death weren't supposed to die. I wished that I could talk to Vincent about this since Light didn't act like he wanted to talk about this. I didn't know why, but whatever the reason, it must be important for me to know. You can't kill a Shinigami with weapons like swords, bullets, arrows, axes, or sharp objects. If there was a way to kill a Shinigami, I needed to know.
MEANWHILE...
VINCENT
