I quickly shut the bathroom door and locked it.

"K, well I'm gonna talk to you through the door then." I could hear Ari set her stuff down in my room across the hall before sitting down in front of the bathroom door.
"Mom, I had an amazing first day of shooting." She began to rant about how her day went. I couldn't help but tune it out.

Maybe if I turn the lights off she won't notice.
"Mom? Are you listening?" She grew anxious.
I unlocked the bathroom door and walked out. "Yeah, bubs. I'm listening. Keep going." I half smiled at her.
She smiled and laid a kiss on my cheek.

"Come on, I have something I wanna show you." She giggled, grabbing a hold of my hand and practically yanking me into my own bedroom.
Thank god my red lights were on.
"So like I was saying before, the photos for the demo album cover came in today, and Lisa did a little side by side, I thought it was so cute, lookie." She proudly handed me her phone.
