"Hey babe!"

I called from my office room in our house.

"What baby?"

My boyfriend, Colby, asked as he walked in.

"Want to make a painting with me?"

I ask smiling. i had my art shirt on already and everything else already out. He thought for a second and sighed. He smiled at me.

"Sure."

"Yay! Go change into clothes you wouldn't mind getting messy."

He chuckled and left. He came back a minute later in a stained T-shirt and some ripped jeans. He came over and sat on a chair next to me.

"Give me your hand."

I ask and he follows as i say. He put his hand out and i put some red paint on it. I painted it on with my paint brush and moved his hand over a canvas.

"Ok. Now press your hand onto the canvas."

He pressed it down and when he took it off it left a red handprint of his. He smiled at me and i nodded, smiling back.

"Alright. You can go wash that off your hand."

He got up and washed it off. When he came back, he saw i was doing the same thing i did with him but in black paint on the canvas. I lifted my hand, so it showed a black handprint of mine over his red handprint.

He chuckled and came back over. He wrapped his arms around my middle area and rested his chin on my head. I giggled and rested one of my hands over his which still had black paint on it. He laughed.

"Hey! I just washed my hands!"

I giggle and look up at him.

"Your fine, dumbo."

He rolled his eyes playfully and i put black paint on his nose with my finger. He chuckled and kissed my head.

"Love you."

"Love you too."

Once our painting was done, we wrote our names and the date on the bottom before putting it up on the wall.

5 years later:

5 years later and i was in my same office with Colby. We had just made another painting of our hands and i was just adding the finished touch. I pressed my little baby's hand down with black paint on her hand onto the canvas.

This canvas had it, so Colby was in red, i was grey, and our little one's hand was black. She squealed when i lifted her hand off and once the canvas dried, Colby hung it on the wall next to the one we made back 5 years ago.
