Saving her

Me, Sam, Colby, Katrina, Tara, Jake, Devyn, and Corey were all having a pool party kind of thing but it was slightly more relaxing than partying. Me and the girls were all sitting byt the pool while the boys were swimming and playing around.  I wasn't the best at swimming so i decided to stay on the shallower side when in the water.

After a bit the boys got out of the water and we aall went into the shade sicne they were a bit tired out. After a while of talking, Colby spoke up to me.

Colby: "Hey babe?"

"Yea?"

Colby: "Could you go get my towel? It's by where we were at in the deeper side."

"Ok."

I got up and went over to grab his towel. Once i was over there, i bent down to grab the towel but there was water on the side of the pool and i ended up slipping into the pool. 

"AH! COL-"

I screamed as i fell into the deep part of te pool. I was trying to get to the top but it took a bit and once my head hit the top i screamed out again.

"HELP! SOMEONE HELP PLE-!"

As i screamed that i felt myself go down under the water again and water got in my lungs. I felt myself going in and out of  consiousness as i was going down. Then i felt someone jumped in the pool as i fell out of consciousness.

Colby's POV:

I heard someone screaming for help but then i recongnised the voice as my girlfriends, Y/n. I looked over and saw her trying to get to the top of the water till she ended up going down again. Everyone was already jumping up to go see whats happeing but i quickly got up and dashed to the pool.

I quickly dived in and swam down to her. I saw her mouth open which i know is not good at all. I got down and grabbed her by the waist. I pulled her back up and swam to the surface again. I reached the top and threw her up onto the concreate next to the pool. 

I jumped up and checked her pulse while the girls were crying and scared and the boys were in shock. I put my fingers to her cold neck and looked for a pulse.

Nothing.

I checked her wrist to see there.

Nothing

A wave of panic and fear flooded over me as i quickly started to do CPR. I was doing chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth trying to get her to breathe again. It took a few minute but finally she started coughing up water. She turned to her side and coughed up lots of water and was basically gagging.

Y'n's POV:

I felt myself come awake again and the second i did i started coughing up water that was in my throat. I turned on to my side and started to cough and gag up water. I felt someone rubbing and patting my back. My ears were ringing and my eyes were watery and teary. 

After a bit, i finished and finally got all the water out of my system. I was trying to catch my breath again as i sat up again. I looked up and saw Colby sitting right in front of me, holding my hands in his. 

Colby reached up from my trembling hands and wiped the tears from my eyes and cheeks. He kissed my cheek and hugged me tight. He rubbed my back to comfort me since i was still trembling. 

Colby: "Your ok now. Your alright." He whispered in my ear. 

I buried my head in the crook of his neck as i was still shaking and trying to calm down but was also cold. Colby continued to whisper to me. After a minute, he scooped me up in his arms. He carried me bridal style into the house. He took me upstairs and sat me at the edge of the bathtub and started to dry me off.

"Colbs?" I cracked out sicne my throat hurts from the gagging and the screaming.

Colby looked upa t me as he dried me.

Colby: "Yea hun?"

"What had happened?"

Colby: "You fell in the pool."

"i know that but like before i gagged up the water. Did i pass out?"

Colby was nervous, not sure if he should tell me. After a few seconds he finished drying me and he sighed as he put the towel in the laundry.

Colby: "Babe....You coded."

"Like....My heart stopped?"

Colby nodded. I felt shocked and i could tell Colby had been scared when that had happened. I hugged him.

"I-I'm sorry."

Colby hugged me back as he picked me up again.

Colby: "It's alright. it wasm't your fault."

Colby carried me into our room and he set me on the bed. He grabbed some comfy clothes and helped me into them. Once i was changed he laid down on the bed and pulled me onto his chest as i fell asleep.

Colby's POV:

I say as Y/n fell asleep but i couldn't. i felt so anxious when she was asleep, fearing she isn't breathing and her heart stopped. i gently would check her pulse every few minutes just for my sake. After an hour of doing this i felt comfortable enough to fall asleep, trusting she is still breathing while i'm sleeping wih her in my arms, protecting her from the world around.
