By the next morning anyone friends with the girls on social media knew about Kara's engagement to Lena. Maggie saw it right after waking up and quickly messaged Kara and Lena congratulating them. They quickly responded by saying a quick thank you before heading downstairs to have breakfast. "So what are your plans for today ladies?" Eliza asked. "Well I thought I'd take Andrea around and show here Midvale." Alex replied. "And we're gonna go get Lena a ring." Kara added. "Ok then..well I'll be here then setting things up for later." Eliza replied.
After getting dressed the four college students head off in two cars. "So where's the jewelry store?" Lena asked. "This way. And no you're not allowed to buy your ring. Mom gave me permission to use the school credit card so no complaining." Kara replied. "Yes dear." Lena replied. They pulled into the parking lot and got out of Lena's car. The store had a wide selection of engagement rings with all different stones on them. "How can I...Kara?" The young woman asked. "Hey Lacey! You remember Lena right?" Kara asked as she hugged her former teammate. "Yes! Of course I remember her. Congratulations by the way!" Lacey replied. "Thank you. It was quite the surprise." Kara said as she began looking at rings.
Lena looked at all the rings closely before finding one she liked. It was exactly like the one she got Kara expect it had a sapphire stone in the middle of it. "This one." Lena said pointing to it. "It'll remind me of your beautiful blue eyes." Lena whispered as Kara paid for it. Once they were back in the car Kara slipped the ring on Lena's finger and pulled her into a kiss. "Now...what would you like to do?" Kara asked as they pulled apart. "Let's go back and spend time with Eliza, show off the ring my beautiful fiancé got me." Lena replied.
As soon as they returned to the house Lena showed Eliza the engagement ring. "You got one that looks like Kara's eyes." Eliza said. "That was the plan. Lee's go my eyes on her finger and I've got her eyes on my finger." Kara replied. "I didn't want to go the traditional way with an engagement ring." Lena replied. "Well go get into some comfortable clothes and come decorate cookies." Eliza replied.
Meanwhile Alex and Andrea were walking through town together just enjoying being alone together. "It's a beautiful town even with the snow." Andrea said. "Yea...it's nicer in the summer." Alex replied. "Maybe you'll have to bring me back this summer, so I can see it..." Andrea replied. "Oh definitely. We can go to the lake." Alex added. "Is that your way of saying you want to see me in a bikini?" Andrea asked. "Perhaps. Are you hungry? We can grab lunch in the cafe." Alex replied. "Won't your mom be mad?" Andrea asked. "No. She won't mind us eating out. Besides Kara and Lena are probably back there now anyways. Come on, it'll be our first real date." Alex said. "Ok...I'm in." Andrea replied as they walked into the cafe.
They sat at a booth and began looking over the menu. "What can I get ya to drink Alex?" The waitress asked. "A lemonade Mia." Alex replied. "And for you?" Mia asked looking at Andrea. "Same." Andrea replied. "The usual Al?" Mia asked. "No...Kara's home with mom and Lena. I'll have the fried chicken sandwich and fries." Alex replied. "That's right! You'll have to tell her congratulations for me. It's good to see her so happy...after...you know." Mia replied. "I will, and yea it is." Alex replied. "I'll have the double bacon cheeseburger and fries." Andrea replied. "Sure thing. It'll be a few minutes." Mia replied as she headed off to the kitchen.
"Mia?" Andrea asked. "She's a high school teacher, she works here during summer." Alex replied. "Ah ok. What was she talking about with Kara?" Andrea asked. "In high school Kara was dating a girl named Sam and things were getting really serious. Then one day Sam just dumped her saying she was moving. They never saw one another again. That was Kara's junior summer. And well last year she got with Lena...and well Sam made an appearance at Kara's graduation sleepover and it didn't go well. Lena all but beat her up." Alex replied. "Oh wow! I can totally see Lena doing that too! She's really over protective of Kara." Andrea replied.
Just as they began eating the door to the cafe opened revealing Maggie. Alex looked away immediately but Andrea saw what happened. "Hey Maggie....how are you?" Andrea asked. "I'm good, how are you?" Maggie asked. "I'm good. I didn't know you lived here too." Andrea replied. "Yep...lived here all my life." Maggie replied. Maggie looked over at Alex who smiled at her. "I see baby Danvers is engaged. That's great news! I can't wait for the wedding." Maggie added. "Yea it happened last night." Alex replied. "Well I'm just gonna get my to go order and let you two enjoy your date. It was nice seeing you guys! Tell baby Danvers and Lena I said 'hey'." Maggie said as Mia handed her a take out container.
"That was awkward." Andrea said. "Yea it was. I'm sorry about that." Alex said. "It's ok...let's eat and forget it." Andrea replied winking at Alex.
