CHAE WAS CONFLICTED.
She kept hearing Eli's words about Terry Silver replaying over and over again in her mind. She had her concerns about Silver and suspected that there was more to him than just some rich guy who trained under her great-grandfather. Now her suspicions and concerns have begun to grow even more.
There was something about him that made an uncomfortable feeling take over Chae every time she saw him. It was something that she couldn't explain. It was as if there were this evil inside of him that was being revealed to her more and more with every passing day. Chae didn't think there was anyone she could talk to who felt the same way. She was alone.
Her mother seemed to trust him completely, blinded by the guise of bringing her grandfather's teachings to the entire world. She would never hear Chae out if she brought up her concerns. There was no one in the dojo who seemed to be untrusting of him. Not that she knew of, at least. The students of Cobra Kai had put their faith in him, hanging on to every word he said as if he were the law.
She definitely couldn't tell Eli. She would have to tell him that she was part of Cobra Kai and had been lying to him the entire time they'd known each other. She knew that the time would come when she eventually had to tell him the truth, but for now, she couldn't bring herself to come clean. She had grown to like him more than she thought she would—more than she was supposed to.
The entire plan had completely gone out the window. All she was supposed to do was make herself known to the Miyagi-Dos and Eagle Fangs. She had done just that. She had talked to Eli and made herself known to him. He talked about her with the others, so they were all aware of her existence. He no doubt showed them pictures, so they knew what she looked like.
Chae knew almost everything there was to know about Eli from both what she had heard from him and from Silver, yet he barely knew anything about her at all. She was lying to him, and she felt terrible about it.
That was the difference between her and her mother. She felt sorry for her wrongdoings, but her mother had never been sorry a day in her life. At least not as long as Chae has been alive.
She wasn't sure what to do.
"Chae-Rin!"
Chae jumped at the sound of her mother's voice. Immediately, she swung her legs off her bed and stood up, She walked as fast as she could, practically running down the stairs of the house that Silver was allowing them to stay in. She had learned quickly not to dawdle or waste a single second of her mother's time. When her name was called, Chae was expected to be prompt.
Chae walked into the living room, where her mother was waiting for her. Chae stepped in front of her, standing up straight with her hands behind her back.
