ACHARA GLANCED UP AT MIGUEL.

Achara had her head resting on Miguel's shoulder as they sat on the couch of the Thirasawat house watching a movie. Decha had gone to an AA meeting, and Hawk had left to spend time with Chae. Now, only the two of them were left in the house, except for Achara's father, who was in his home office. Achara sighed, turning her head back to the television screen.

She wasn't really paying attention to the movie. Part of her was hoping that Miguel wouldn't notice how distracted she was, but it seemed like that hope was too good to be true. The second he heard her sigh, he turned his attention towards her.

"Is everything okay?" Miguel asked, causing Achara to tilt her head slightly to look at him. "You just seem kind of distracted."

Achara lifted her head and adjusted her position on the couch so that she was facing him. Miguel grabbed the remote and paused the movie.

"Everything is fine," Achara told him. "It's just that I have a therapy session today, and I'm just overthinking. It's been a little while since my last one, and so I'm just a little stressed."

Miguel reached his hand out and tucked a loose piece of hair behind Achara's ear. "I get that, and it's okay to be stressed or to overthink. I mean, I don't know exactly what's going on in your head, and well, that's what your therapist is for. But anyway, you know you can talk to me about anything, right?"

Achara nodded her head. "I know."

She gave him a smile, hoping that he didn't catch on to the fact that it was a fake smile. There were some things that Achara couldn't talk to him about. All of the thoughts that were circulating around in her head were only things that Achara thought would upset him. That was the last thing she wanted to do.

"Good," Miguel smiled back. "I might suck at giving you advice, but I'll always be here to listen to anything that's bothering you."

Achara kissed his cheek. "I know. Khob jai na. Thank you."

Miguel smiled at her. "You're welcome. Wait, how do you say you're welcome in Thai?"

"Well, that really depends. There's multiple ways you could say it," Achara told him. "You can say mâi bpen rai, which means 'it's okay, don't mention it, or it's no big deal.' Or you can say yin dee, which means 'my pleasure' and that you are happy to be of help."

Miguel nodded his head. "Okay. Uh...May pen r—wait, what was it again?"

Achara let out a soft chuckle before repeating it. "You were so close! My pen rye."
