THE FOUNDING PARTY was fun so far, lots of games and food. I was currently weaving through the crowd, attempting to find Jeremy after he had run off.
Finally, after a while of searching, I caught Jeremy having a standoff with the Salvatore brothers. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked, my eyes flickering cautiously between the three.
"Nothing. We were just done talking," Jeremy said, shooting a glare at the brothers. Without hesitation, Jeremy walked off and I moved to follow him.
"Are you okay?" I asked as I hurried to catch up to him. "Is this about your sister?"
"Yeah, she's been lying to me and thinking I won't notice," Jeremy scoffed, nostrils flaring as he angrily walked.
"Jeremy," I grabbed his arm to stop him from walking away. "What is going on? What is she not telling you?"
Jeremy took a deep breath, pulling me away from where everyone was gathered. We stood away from the crowd, by a brick building. He started pacing as I leaned against the wall. "You know the myths about vampires, werewolves, witches?" Jeremy asked and I felt the color drain from my face.
"Yes," I forced the words out of my mouth.
"Stefan and Damon are vampires, Bonnie a witch," Jeremy began. "Elena had Damon erase my memory of Vicki in hopes I wouldn't miss her."
"I'm sorry," I said quietly. Jeremy came to stand beside me, leaning his back against the wall.
"Every day I miss her. Not because I want to be with her anymore, but I just feel so empty. She was one of the only people who actually understood me. Besides you," Jeremy said, turning his head to look at me. I had a concerned look on my face as I questioned if I should tell him that I was a vampire, too. " You wouldn't lie to me, right?" I focused my gaze on the ground as tears formed in my eyes. He looked at me with confusion. "Right?"
"Jeremy-"
"What are you hiding?" Jeremy questioned upon seeing my reserved demeanor, his voice laced with anger. "What the hell are you not telling me, Annabelle?"
"Do you hate vampires?"I asked, trying to figure out how Jeremy felt. Jeremy huffed, shaking his head.
"Only certain douchebags." I reached over, grabbing Jeremy's hand in mine.
"Jeremy, I'm a vampire," I told him. He looked at me with betrayal, yanking his hand out of my grasp.
"You didn't think to tell me sooner?" Jeremy snapped.
"I never hid anything from you, I just protected my secret about who I am. Telling one wrong person could get me killed," I told the boy. He scoffed, beginning to walk away from me. "I'm sorry but I'm not Elena or Damon, I'm coming clean now!"
