Annabelle

"JEREMY, I'M LOOSING it here. My family drama is insane," I said with a chuckle, kicking a loose stone in the pavement. I had gone for a walk in hopes that my family wouldn't listen in on my conversation with Jeremy.

"It sure sounds like it," Jeremy agreed. "You find out your family is alive and your crazy grandmother finally makes an appearance, it's like every fantasy book."

"Since when do you read?" I asked him, arching an eyebrow. Jeremy didn't read books, that I was certain of.

"You talk about the books you read a lot," Jeremy said and I bit my lip to hide my smile. He knew me too well.

"Yeah, whatever you say," I replied. "How's Denver?"

"It's amazing," Jeremy said and I could hear the excitement in his voice. "I'm pretty some pretty good friends and the school is great. I'm going to try out for the baseball team."

"Baseball, huh?" I could incision Jeremy in baseball pants and a shirt. Oh boy, would it be a wonderful sight. "I'd like to see that."

"Are you attempting to flirt with me, Annabelle Mikaelson?" He was teasing me, I could tell by the tone of voice.

"Maybe," I admitted, teasing right back before looking at the ground. "I miss you."

"I miss you too," Jeremy admitted and I could imagine the heavy look in his eyes. "But I promise, as soon as I get back, I'll make it up to you with a night of pool and fun." That reminded me, I needed to tell Kol about my experience at playing pool.

"Fun?" I questioned, walking up the driveway to my house. "What kind of fun? You sure make it sounds like we're going to be hooking up in a bathroom like horny teenagers."

"We are teenagers," Jeremy reminded me even though I was far past being a teenager. I didn't remind him of that though, instead, I went along with it.

"True," I agreed, nodding even though he couldn't see me. I had gotten back to the house now, in record time. "Look, I've got to go but I'll Facetime you later. I love you."

"Love you too, B," Jeremy said before we said our goodbyes. After I hung up the phone, I skipped inside the house.

"Uncle Kol!" I called out his name as I made my way into the living room, where my family was. Bekah was getting her nails painted while Dad was polishing his shoes. Kol and Finn were both getting their suits tailored to them in preparation for the ball tonight.

"What is it, my dear Annie?" Kol asked as he looked at me through the mirror, adjusting his bow tie. He must have been making sure his suit fit properly.

"You'll never guess what," I said, my hands on my hips as I made eye contact with him through the mirror. "I learned how to play pool." Kol burst out laughing at my sentence and I pretended to be offended, pressing a hand to my heart. "Excuse you. I'm offended."
